  • Anterior thoracic adjustment (hug)
    • - When adjusting the upper thoracic region of the spine, it is useful to lower the head piece. This will open up the patients spine rather than constrict it.
    • Master cervical adjustment
    - I observed multiple cervical spine manipulations throughout the month.
    • Low back/hip adjustment
    - When adjusting this region, the patient lays on their side and the doctor will use their hands to apply a quick force twisting the torso.

    • Patient charts are organized alphabetically (by last name) and placed in a filing cabinet
    • Every morning the receptionist would pull out patient charts that the doctors were scheduled to treat that day
    • Receptionist would only schedule 3 patients per 15 minute block 
    - Avoids getting behind schedule and making patients wait

    • It is important to have an employee with knowledge in billing through insurance companies, as it makes both the chiropractors and patients life easier.
    • Working with insurance companies can be difficult as they do not reimburse the chiropractors right away and can take time.
    • A common problem is that patients push back paying their co-pay.
