There was a young king and queen ruling over the country. The queen was crowned at 18 and the king 20.Unfortunately since they were young they had no sense of responsibility. The king was sending money for the American revolution while the queen was spending ridiculous amounts of money on her appearance. At the time there was a very big issue with starvation. The king and queen were basically careless while prices of grains were raising in price so it was hard to make bread and grow crops because of the difficult weather. Along with starvation and food prices rising the lower class people were forced to pay taxes.

The tennis court oath happened on June 20th 1789 with the third estate. It was a very dramatic act, at the tennis court oath the men of the assembly swore an oath to never stop meeting with each other until the constitution was completely established. Luckily it was a very peaceful protest at the time yet very dramatic while the whole point of the protest was fighting for the limiting of powers of the monarch by creating a constitution for the French people which would obviously limit the power the monarchs have.
