Opaque watercolour painting of Kamadhenu, the wish-fulfilling cow, who suckles Śiva’s bull Nandi and the Devi’s tiger. This composite creature has the body of a cow, the sumptuous tail of a peacock, the horns of a bull, the face of a woman and multicoloured wings. A long plait of hair, decorated with a tassel at the end, is visible near the front hoofs, and her long neck and her head are bedecked with jewels. Metal decorations cap the tips of the horns. The ocean, teeming with aquatic life, is contained inside her belly: this probably hints at her bountiful and nurturing nature. A chakra (discus) is drawn on her rump.

Painting from an album bound in red striped fabric containing 14 miniatures; with 11 Baramasa (Song of the seasons) paintings (paintings 2 to 12), 1 from Mewar, 2 from thikanas. Opaque watercolour on paper.

The month of Bhadrapada or Bhadon is the monsoon season. Dark, grey clouds and flashes of lightning dramatically coloured gold and orange portray the atmosphere of the rainy season. The predominant use of grey in this illustration conveys the atmosphere of menacing clouds on the horizon. In the foreground, elephants break trees and lions and tigers roar, emphasizing the unsettled nature of the monsoon season.

the album was originally supposed to be a collaboration between haroumi hosono (music artist) and illustrator tadanori yokoo. it was supposed to be a collaboration inspired by a trip they were taking to India however tadanori yokoo fell ill on the trip so only ended up creating the album cover artwork for the album
