Learning is a different experience for each person. We can hear different perspectives on the subject and therefore understand it from more than position. This is useful in real-world settings where more than one solution or opinion bolsters creative and analytical thinking.

When you are studying in a group there is a higher chance that most of the things you are uncertain about will pop out. As annoying/embarrassing as this might be, it goes without saying that it is better to face your weak points in good time. This way, there will be a much lower probability that the exam will catch you off guard.

2. It is often quite hard to understand every detail of the lecture when doing self study. However, some colleagues of yours might have paid more attention to the parts you missed, and so, you can all help tofill in each other’s gaps. The best way to really learn and understand something is through explaining it to others.

3. Through their cooperative but also competitive nature, study groups promote critical thinking and creativity as new questions and explanations within discussions and debates. Thus, this interactive environment ensures a much deeper learning of the material that would be missed with self study.

Students can tell if their study group is serious about school if they keep chit-chat to a minimum, don’t rush through concepts, and focus on comprehension rather than memorization.

We also develop the ability to adapt more to each and every individual’s needs and to increase the access and inclusiveness of tools and resources. The collective knowledge grows at a much faster speed for everyone when we learn together.

Joining a study group and studying in a group environment makes learning much more fulfilling and enjoyable. Studying by yourself, especially for long periods of time, can become a monotonous activity—especially if you find the subject matter tedious. By joining a study group, you can break this monotony and make learning more enjoyable. When you feel like there is just so much to learn and it all seems overwhelming, a study group session can be a real boost as members support each other. The auditory factor of group study, talking and listening, can help auditory learners and students who dislike the silence of studying alone.
