And several days ago I went to see the Totoro play again, and because I had done the Totoro research before so this time the play moved me to tears. Whether it's a movie or a play, it reminds me of my childhood. I too have wanted to go back in time countless times and the story of Totoro makes me think that when we miss something, the intensity of the emotions we recall are on the high side, like crying super hard when we remember we lost something one time, but the truth may not be as bad. We tend to only remember the conclusion of a judgement and ignore the frame of reference in which it was made: for example, only remembering that certain TV shows we watched as children were good, but ignoring that it was in the context of comparing them to TV shows from the same period. For example, the boy grew up with his grandparents and only got a bit communication with parents. Because of his personality, he doesn't have too many friends, so once he saw the orange he think it's his best friend. The orange was drawn the expression by the boy so it thought it's not a fruit, it's a human as well. Mom saw the orange with expression and  understood something that they don't have much care  and they missed out the growth of their son. I’m still confused about the sequence of the zine. I would try another layout next time, because the colour changed a little bit in the print&finishing workshop and the printer in the library. As a child my mother would tell me about the Jews and occasionally tell me stories about them and Germany.

    I happened to read the book and see the movie in high school. It gave me a greater awareness of the Jews.I felt very depressed after watching this film and the horrors of war at the time. The perspective from a child's point of view brought me into the whole drama better.
