Kim Yu-na started figure skating in 1996 when she was 7 years old.
In April 2002, she won her first international competition the Nobis  category at the Slovenia Triglav Trophy. 
Eventually, she was first selected as the national team in 2003 when she was a freshman in middle school.

Junior (2004-2006)

2004 : She made his debut on the junior international stage in 2004. At the Junior Grand Prize held in Hungary, which was the first ISU-approved international competition to compete in, she took first place. 

2005: In the Junior Grand Prize Final, she won the gold medal by successfully completing all three rounds and five jumps.
 
2006: She won the 2006 Junior World Championships

2010 Vancouver
