• the vast majority of the total healthcare spending was used for medical services in 2013-2014. these costs include the cost of running hospitals, GP surgeries and outpatients services, and has accounted for at least 95% of total healthcare spending in the last 5 years. 
• the police - in the last 8 years the grant funding the police forces receive has changed by the same percentage irrespective of changes in population or wider needs. this has led to bigger cuts to police budgets in more deprived, higher crime areas. an example - funding was cut by around 20% per person between 2013-14 and 2019-20 in greater London, 13% in the west midlands and 10-12% in greater Manchester, Merseyside, Northumbria and south and west Yorkshire, compared to 3% to 4% in surrey, Dorset and Wiltshire. 
• the police will rely largely on increases in council tax to meet the rising cost if their grant funding is falling in real terms. 
• less people working so it would take them longer to respond to a call. 
• hospitals might have less ambulances to go out and help people so might have to make the hard decision to pick who they go out to respond depending on how serious they are. 
• when phoning 999 or 111 it might take them ages for someone to pick up the phone due to budget cuts and them having to let people go. 
• with the lack of people working more people might be able to get away with certain crimes. for example if they know in their area that they don't have enough police officers they might go out and rob a corer shop as they know they don't have a big enough police force or time to convict them. crime increases. 
• with the lack of staff, the current staff could feel pressured to do their job and might end up doing a job that 2 people would usually do. they might suffer with stress. may finish a call then get sent straight to the next one straight away.

after the second world war a document was written to outline and protect every single human beings basic rights. in 1948, the united nations universal declaration of human rights was established to do that. 

no one can take away our rights and freedoms. they belong to everybody. 

in the UK our human rights are protected under the Human Rights Act 1998. 

From women fleeing domestic violence to disabled people seeking proper support, the Human Rights Act helps people to fight injustice and hold those in power to account. It places public authorities in the UK – including hospitals and social services – under an obligation to treat everyone with fairness, equality and dignity.

• providing humanitarian aid for vital medical supplies and other help. they have committed almost £400 million overall, including £220m of humanitarian assistance. 
• providing military aid, continuing to work with international partners to supply vital weapons to the armed forces of Ukraine. they have delivered so far things like main battle tanks, helicopters, thousands of ant tank weapons, anti air missiles, multiple launch rocket systems, armored vehicles. they have also delivered non leathel aid like helmets, body armour, rations and medical equipment. in 2022, the UK trained 10,000 Ukrainian soldiers in basic infantry skills and has committed to training up to 20,000 more in 2023. 
• changing the immigration system to support British nationals and their families who are currently living in Ukraine, and Ukrainians in the UK and their families. they are also offering a sponsorship scheme, homes for Ukraine, allowing individuals, charities, community groups and businesses in the UK to bring Ukrainians to safety. 
• they have coordinated with our allies on sanctions aimed at starving the Russian government of funds to further its unprovoked war against Ukraine, including a joint decision by all G7 countries to remove Russian banks from the SWIFT system.

Covid had a major impact not only in the UK but worldwide. This lead to multiple lockdowns where some legislations were changed. Every person has the right to life, education and freedom however, all these rights were stripped during the first lockdown which was between March and June 2020. All high street businesses were closed and people were ordered to stay at home stripping them of their right of freedom, you were only allowed to leave your house if it was essential. It was also proven very difficult for children to keep at top of their necessary education. Not only did Covid effect education but it also effected work life so families were not getting the appropriate amount of income. The UK failed to act quickly in response of the emergence of covid with no clear policy approach at the start of the pandemic.
