Create NEW questions based off of the questions you saw from your current Unit 2 Exam. When done correctly, it will help you make further connections to the text and increase understanding of topics. Should similar questions come up (and they will) , you'll be able to answer them on the AP Exam!

How do the number of energy levels influence the properties of electronegativity and ionization energy?

Answer: The more energy levels you have, specifically when you are comparing elements down a column, the less ionization energy the atom has. Since valence electrons are getting farther away from the nucleus, as you add energy levels, the easier it is for an electron to be removed. As the number of energy levels decrease in an atom, it makes it harder to lose an electron, since they are so close to the nucleus. Thus, this makes the tendency to gain an electron more applicable, which corresponds with electronegativity.
