1. Personally my parents are neutral on wanting me to follow in their footsteps. They both are in accounting and so far i am the only child that has shown interest in following in their footsteps. Although they do not force me to follow in their footsteps i have chosen to follow because the path is made for me. I don't think parents should put pressure on their kids it is not a good thing to do as the kid may n to want to do that and it is totally out of their interests. The parents are trying to help the kid by putting them on a pre made path but the kid may not like that.
2. My role models are mainly athletes who have come up from nothing. These athletes really have tried there whole life against insane odds and have come out on top. These are the people that influence me to try all the time. They never gave up even when it was almost impossible for them to keep going. They influence me because of their passion and need to get better and to keep trying.

The first one by Dr. Werther won Braun is saying that education is an important part fo life. He is saying that you can try you hardest to put something in your kids but if they do not want to learn it it doesn’t work. If the kid wants to learn and learns that is something you can not take away from them, you can take away physical stuff but you can not take away knowledge. It is saying, in reference to the story, that kids can go and work in the coal mine because it’s what everyone does but if you learn you can get out of that and nobody can take you down.

The second one by Miss Freida Joy Riley it is saying that everything is up to you. She is saying that people can give you stuff but if you do not take them and use them smartly you can not go anywhere. She is saying that nobody can force you to be smart, they can help you try to be but they can not force you. In the story they can force you to work in a coal mine but nobody can force you to become smart and work hard in school. She is saying that if you really want to help yourself you have to do everything yourself and try hard on your own time.

Family’s role

In Sonnys life, family is a big part of it and he has a mother, Elise, father, Homer Sr., and brother, Jim. All of these people have a big impact on Sonnys life. Sonny is always trying to be the good kid in the family and the smart one. He would always try to be a good kid and didn't annoy his parents or ever get them mad at him when he clearly states, “My father had hit me only once in my entire life” (93). He is showing that he is very dependent on his family and how much his family means to him and he doesn’t wanna do anything wrong. He shows that he loves his family and he doesn't like making them mad because that is the only people he can turn to. His brother has a big part in his life, Sonny is the small and younger brother, and his brother and him seem to fight a lot but when it comes down to it, they never want there parents to find out. They have fought and destroyed many things, but they have worked together to make sure that the people that they love do not find anything out like “When mom came home, she found our bikes parked neatly beside each other in the backyard and Jim and I sitting innocently together in the living room”(19). This is showing that although they fought and broke stuff they do not want there family to get mad at them, and they are brothers and they fight but they can work together sometimes. Family is a huge role for Sonny and that is all he has
