What have you observed about how the MYP is implemented at our school?

● Planning (Yearly Overviews) include the Global Contexts and Key/Related concepts, focusing on ATT2 and 3

● Inquiry is encouraged in unit and lesson planning and in IDU (SoI)

● Integrated learning across subjects/ topics

● Content is comprehensive and integrates different subjects.

● Collaborative environment where teachers share best practices and support one another in implementing the MYP.

How do the IB Standards and Practices align with your previous experiences and expectations?

● IB (PYP) is very similar to the IPC

● When I was at school in the UK in the 80s/90s there was a focus on PBL. IB seems similar.

●  Approaches to assessment - whereby the school provided opportunities for students to consolidate their learning various assessment means.

● supporting and being supported.

● The IB standards and practices align well with my experience teaching Grade 7 and 8 drama, particularly in fostering creativity, critical thinking, and self-reflection. My approach encourages open dialogue and collaboration, integrating diverse cultural perspectives, which supports the IB's emphasis on developing inquirers and promoting international-mindedness.

● Intervention strategies for struggling pupils

Point 2 IB learner profile. 5c5r conflict? they need to go , confusing having both. Learner profiles are much cooler- assemblies, well done. Learner profiles not 5c5r less profile. Dojo points worked well. Improve Art- make stand alone big board 3D of learner profile attributes. Visual representation of learning.

Improve - reflection time. Need to be open minded

Point 3 Group work - last year, ended up with single seats, seating in groups?- moved desks. Group work alright.
