My own daughters are grown-up, so it has been many years since I spent time looking at girls' clothing. These types of shirts were not popular when my daughters were young in the 1990's. I'm not sure when this trend began, but it is nice to see so many shirts proclaiming the ability of girls to succeed. Positive messages are important because they can change and reinforce attitudes about pride and strength.
