Then, he shows a side where he is territorial of his woman and is still concerned if another man were to take her away.  He says he'll defend her against as many men that wants her. 
2. This is his way of taming her. In a way, he is showing his superiority so that she does not see them as equals. Then when the other men try and make her stay, he then stands up for his wife saying she is mine, he then says to her he will never let anyone touch her or hurt her.
