https://padlet.com/krikitlove45/wyndhamwoodshauntedbb en-us 2017-01-13 20:33:57 UTC 2025-10-25 13:29:55 UTC hello@padlet.com https://padlet-assets.s3.amazonaws.com/icons/Simplehouse.png krikitlove45 https://padlet.com/krikitlove45/wyndhamwoodshauntedbb/wish/148496959 2017-01-21 01:41:05 UTC https://padlet.com/krikitlove45/wyndhamwoodshauntedbb/wish/148496959 krikitlove45 https://padlet.com/krikitlove45/wyndhamwoodshauntedbb/wish/150020672 My recommendation for Wyndham Woods Haunted Bed and Breakfast is that they use a combination of radio and tv advertisements with a focus on radio.  In the Southern Illinois area, nearly everyone listens to the same radio stations, 101.5 CIL Fm and 99.9 Z100.  Both of these radio stations are a part of the company River Radio and as such, we could get a deal with advertising with them.  Most people will also tune into WSIL TV 3 in the evenings at 6 and 10pm.  A commercial slot during this time could be beneficial.  I would not spend a ton of money advertising in these places as we should be focused on a very specific niche in the market.  I feel like we would be throwing our money away by advertising too heavily in these areas.  It would be more prudent for us to advertise on websites focused on haunted bed and breakfasts.  I would also like to see a billboard ad on the main highway that runs through the area (I-57).  I can't find exact prices on a billboard, but I'm sure it is expensive.  I am sure that this is a better way to spend the money though as people will be traveling to our location.  If they already live in the area, I don't see them coming to stay at our bed and breakfast. 
We can go a bit heavier on the advertisements on local stations around specific times of the year, like Halloween and graduation from the local university and college.  I've emailed the local radio stations and contacted a friend who is an anchor at the tv station to find out about rates but have yet to hear back from them.  I believe one or two ads per day would be sufficient during the less busy season with possibly three ads per day in October.  As I said earlier, we would have to do research on the topic to see if it actually helps the company or if it just drains time and resources.  My prediction is that it will spend much more than we take back in and my recommendation would be to focus our attention and time on other forms of advertising. ]]> 2017-01-28 04:10:30 UTC https://padlet.com/krikitlove45/wyndhamwoodshauntedbb/wish/150020672 krikitlove45 https://padlet.com/krikitlove45/wyndhamwoodshauntedbb/wish/151580908 So, I definitely didn't realize that this week was going to focus around other advertising options and already discussed my plans for that last week. I have included for this week a few examples of websites I would use since I mentioned last week that there are specific websites for this. One of them is www.haunted-places-to-go.com, it focuses on haunted attractions across the country and has a specific listing for Haunted B&Bs (including the Lizzie Bordon experience. You stay in her house! I just watched an episode of Supernatural about it over break and now I'm super pumped to know it's a real thing). Another is bedandbreakfast.com, it has a specific search for haunted B&Bs as well. I've put in emails to their communications departments to see what it would theoretically cost me but I have yet to hear back. I would also definitely create a facebook and instagram account for the B&B. As a side note- I contacted my neighbor that owns the house earlier this week to see if she has any more background information on the house that I can share.
