16jan 2026 Cooking a steak

Challenge part: pilling the potatos and making fries it was hard, and finding a steak

What have I learn: patients is key because erm..I almost ate raw steak

Overcome: I overcome the oil because I was scared of oil...

In the end it tasted good and are one of my favorites steaks I made, I also made fries for the First time this year it was amazing and I will do it again but better 😮‍💨✌️, anyways I hope this can also help my friends on how to make steak 🦟🦟🦟🦟

BL Day 16 Jan (Colouring a Butterfly!)

Today, I coloured this butterfly. Initially I wanted to use the colours pink, light blue and other pastel colours that I was more comfortable with using. However, my pastel colour markers had no more ink so I had to use what I had. I used the colours black, maroon and dark purple. At first, I was skeptical whether the colour combinations would look nice. I'm really glad that I chose to trust the process!! I learnt that sometimes we need to come out of our comfort zone and do things we wouldn't normally do. Looking forward to colouring another piece the next BL DAY!

Today I passed by a tree and there was so much flowers below it that has fallen off so I just took it and took some pics. Then in the afternoon I wanted to run with my brother but then it started to rain so we just ran abit then walked indoors. After that when I came back I saw a black cat! I also tried to collage this pic on canva which took so much of my time cause I’m so bad at editing on canva. (I can’t find a specific template and idk how to edit the photo at first) But in the end I still did itt!!😌🙏

Today I decided to try to practice my singing. Since my CCA carnival performance for choir is coming up tomorrow, I thought it was perfect to practice now. The challenges I faced was only having my vocals to be on beat. When I replayed and replayed and replayed, there was one thing in common- that same delay. And with some tinkering I matched it the best I could to the other recording. Since I had both alto* and soprano* parts in. I have learnt that what is important in singing(choir) is be on beat and in tune.

Alto*- the second-highest vocal part, typically the lowest range for female singers, providing rich harmony below the soprano line

Soprano*-the section singing the highest vocal line (typically sung by women or boys)

For my sil today i cooked a honey garlic salmon with mashed potato and asperagus. There was a few challanges i faced while cooking this.Firstly the salmon is soo fragile that when i gently washed it, it start cracking and almost becamw broken. secondly when i tried to flip the salmon to the other side to cook a part of of broke. Lastly i had difficulty mincing the garlic into very small pieces for the sauce. enough though i faced these challanges overall my salmon turned out well and my family enjoyed it.

I was watching my comfort anime and I wanted to draw them so I decided to do that for sil . Some challenges I faced was the body kept looking disproportionate so I had to keep redrawing them. I realised that some parts is better when you press down the pencil harder and some parts are better when you press down lighter :D

BL Day 20 Jan 2026 (Vlog 01)

So today, I decided to make a vlog because lately I have been involved in a lot of video editing. That is mainly because this month, I was involved in making videos in my CCA and I have been using Canva a lot. My WA1 for Higher Mother Tongue is also video making- so I thought let's practice!

However I had underestimated the amount of BL work I had. My G3 Tamil BL work was also to make a Canva vid and that took me a long time to complete. (2 hours!!!) And I ate a late lunch at 3.

My planning had also messed up. My initial plan was to make Mobile sized vertical vid but it was too hard to edit so I switched to the horizontal one instead. I also did not take enough footage as I was too busy doing my BL work - I decided not to take some.

So I am pretty disappointed with my product as it is full of text. However, it is not that bad.

My takeaway is to plan ahead next time and take more footage using my PLD instead of my phone - as it would be much easier and convenient.

Today I deceived to (mostly) fingerpaint some apples. Some parts of this process like using my pinky to get small gaps and mixing the right colours together were some challenges I faced.

I did this to also prove that you do not need black for creating shadows or for depth but instead blue as seen on my colour palette I had in screen.

In the end this took:

25-30 minutes to paint

So for today's BL day, I did video editing again. It was more relaxed this time as I had a clear plan on which device to take photographs on and more time to edit. I think this video is not that bad and decent. There are some areas for improvement. I could have included more on what I did during the short breaks I took while studying as I feel that the video is a bit too much just about work. I had a nice time making this video though. Looking forward to making another video next BL Day.

It was a wonderful experience creating this video. The only challenge was filming it as I constantly messed up. But I am satisfied with the product!!! I also kept moving and could not stay still -so it was quite funny to watch it back again.

Me and kay er interviewed Mr ler on the bus today.

Some hardships in this was convincing Mr ler to actually consent to doing this which we got after some begging. And I learnt a lot of things, editing techniques and most importantly Mr ler's birth year :)

So today, I decided to take some pictures of the Sakura Blossoms in the park near my house. Recently, I have been seeing a lot of blossoms in the park nearby and outside Deyi itself. It is very beautiful and I feel that it is rare as it was my first time seeing it. I have also included some photographs I had taken on my way to school this week as well!!

I guess my favourite seasons are spring and autumn now.

Today I made a candy set by kracie- an ice cream set.

Some hardships in this was scoping up the ice cream to form into a semi circle and as well as making the ice cream and various toppings like banana and strawberry. in the end I Perservered and made it.

This is a bouquet of flowers made from pipe cleaner. One challenge i face is that sometimes when i bend the pipe cleaner ill prick myself cause the end of the pipe cleaner is very sharp. ive learnt how to make a mini flower using pipe cleaner.

I hand sew my skirt to make it shorter. I learnt how to sew a back stitch, start a stitch and end a stitch. i also learnt that backstitch the best stitch for clothes as it holds fabrics together really firmly. I struggled to pin the fold area as it kept unfolding itself i i needed to make it straight. i also needed to sew 3 fabric altogether but sometimes i miss some frabric and only sew 2 fabric. Although its very time consuming its fun because i can relax and just sew.

Today, I did not quite know what to do for BL. So, I just decided to create a overview of April so far. It was actually really fun creating this video. I found out how to use the layer feature to layer some of the photographs and it was really fun doing so. Looking forward to creating videos again next BL.

So today, I was quite bored so I decided to take up the challenge of learning accounting. It was quite exhausting, because there are quite a lot of terms to learn and understand the concepts. But it was pretty fun doing so! I learnt about the fundamental basics - assets, liabilities, shareholders' equity, revenues, expenses and dividends. I also learnt how to prepare a financial statement.

Today i played volleyball

at first it was hard to estimate where the ball was going and how hard i must receive it in order to make the ball go where i want it to go.

This is my first time trying pixel art digitally. I got the idea from pinterest and searched for pixel art making websites on google. I just decided to click on the first result. It was a bit hard at first as it was my first time using the website and wasn't familiar with the tools and functions. But slowly, I managed to get the hang of the basic tools and new how to navigate around. Another problem I faced was that when I was drawing, sometimes I couldn't get the shape right and had to undo and redo over and over again until I was satisfied. I learnt that it doesn't have to perfect and to not scrutinise every single little pixel, as it would just unnecessarily stress me out even more about getting every line perfect.

This is another canva transition that I had learnt. Most of my ideas or tutorials come from pinterest. I learnt how to animate and use these recording frame icons to focus on a certain character. This can help when you want to introduce one character at a time without overwhelming the audience with so many names at once.

I was inspired by my friend who made her own DIY phone wallpaper of her favourite character. Hence I decided to make one myself. I ran into a problem when I couldn't decide how to position the character. I did not want to place to many of the character icons in one place to avoid overcrowding. I also did not want to leave too many big, weird gaps in between. In the end, the moment I was happy with the end result, I decided to not overthink it anymore.

I love how cute and funny this cat looked so I decided to doodle it into my sketchbook. I referred to a reference picture and learned how to sketch and shade the stripes of the cat without fully colouring in the cat. It also made the cat's features more visible with contast from the stripes without having to fulling shade the cat in with pencil.

I didn't really have any good ideas on what to draw so I just decided to doodle a full page of cat's into my sketchbook. It wasn't really hard to find different variations of the same cat in different poses. So it really helped me past time and relieve my boredom. I definitely felt a sense of satisfaction after I finished filling up the page.

me and my friend tried reselling for the first time while experimenting with the concept of market arbitrage . We bought a bottle of perfume for $5 and sold it for $35 generating $30 in total profit. Moving forward we would make use of the holidays to make more money 🤑 💰

I made a sunny side up egg. I felt like making it cause the dish i was eating was too bland and I wanted to add more taste to the dish. Some challenges was that the oil kept splattering and I almost got burnt. I have never cooked before so I was scared it would turn out bad but it actually turned out better than I thought I learnt that nothing is impossible and making egg is actually very easy.

for my sil i decided to draw pixel art. the reason i chose to do this for my sil was because i was seeing alot of videos on pixel on tiktok recently so i decided to give it a try. there was no difficulties as for drawing but i had difficulty finding a red pencil that i could hold properly as all my red pencils became short

Today, I learnt how to collage photos and add background music using capcut. It's quite simple actually. I just had to use a template, add my own images and export the video. I look forward to making these type of videos but using templates that include special effects/ animation in the future!

I drew some fruits to practice my shading and how light would be reflected onto the fruits. Of course, i had reference images, but it was pretty difficult to get my drawing to look very similar to the reference pic. (The apple core definitely took the longest) Although i faced some difficulties, the ending result was very satisfying and learnt that I don't need to shade a huge part of the fruit, and to only shade some parts to make it look more realistic.

I went to the park near my house and took some photos of these bundles of tiny flowers. It was about 5pm so the lighting there at that time was really good, hence i didn't have much trouble getting good lighting for these photos. I don't take photos often so this was something nice to do. I have a relaxing time taking photos of these flowers and did not face much difficulties getting an angle I was happy with.

For my sil I drew some desserts, i couldn't really try out any new things because I did not have much time today. So I just decided to draw and colour using a highlighter. This page did not take very long to do as I just had to use my pen and highlighter to add some details. Overall, this drawing was really fun to make.

Today, I dedicated time reading a book I recently borrowed - Pride and Prejudice. It was really thrilling and fun to learn roughly how the life of people in England, during the regency era, functioned. I learnt some new words too, like drawing room means where people invited guests over to chat or spend time there alone. Chaperone is someone who accompanies an unmarried woman or man and ensures there is no misconduct.
