In a normal eye, a fluid called aqueous humor flows around the eye and this fluid is made up of mostly water and nutrients to nourish the cornea and lens. After cleansing the eye, this fluid drains through a part called the trabecular mesh-work in the corner where the cornea and iris meet. In glaucoma,  when there is too much fluid build up, this causes increased pressure in the eye. Open Angle Glaucoma Symptoms - 

• Silent - no noticeable symptoms in early stages, also known as “thief of sight” 
• No pain 
• Increased intraocular pressure 
• Optic Disc cupping 
• Loss of peripheral vision 

Angle Closure Glaucoma Symptoms: 

• Severe eye pain 
• Nausea & vomiting 
• blurred vision/ seeing halos 
• Edema of cornea (swelling) 
• Red eyes
• Increased intraocular pressure
