He has a real love for choreographing which is shown after he comes out of his sister's limelight.

Relationships:
Sharpay- Sharpay is his fraternal twin sister, they have starred in seventeen school theatre productions together however Sharpay quite mean to her brother, expecting him to do everything she wants and that includes embarrassing Gabriella by researching her and then posting the research all throughout school but another thing is that when he is with her he is overshadowed by her and then only when she betrays him in the second High School Musical does he show his true talent which is choreographing.
Troy- He is friendly to Troy however you get the impression that he is held back by Sharpay in the first edition of the musical and because of that he doesn't get to form a friendship with Troy as quickly as he does with others.
Gabriella- He is influenced by Sharpay and at the beginning dislikes Gabriella however he realizes that she is a nice person and they become friends much to Sharpay's dislike.
Chad-At the beginning they are shown to have a knowledge of each other however they never cross paths until later in the sequel to High School Musical they bond over their enjoyment of baseball.
Taylor-like Chad, they also don't interact in the first High School Musical but they do in the sequel, this is when Gabriella and Taylor convince Ryan that it would be fun for him to join them in watching baseball however he ends up participating in it.
Kelsi- They start off with having a rocky relationship because of Ryans sister, Sharpay, thinking that she is better than Kelsi however in the movie version they end up becoming friends and then going to prom together however in the stage version they aren't showed to have that relationship.
Ms Darbus- Being one os the best in her class, Ryan is a favorite of Ms Darbus, however, is often overshadowed by Sharpay so he doesn't get the recommendation he deserves.

Chad Danforth:
Age: 16-17

He is a basketball star, second to Troy Bolton who is his best friend which they both attend East High school in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Style:
In the movie he's style is jeans with shirts however both in the movie and the stage production he wears a basketball top and shorts with the wildcat logo and colours.

Personality:
He is mad about basketball which is made clear throughout High School Musical with him having a basketball with him continually, he is then against anything that isn't to do with sports which in this musical is the drama club.

Relationships:
Troy- They have been best friends since preschool and team mates as well, they are very close however he feels betrayed when he finds out about Troy auditioning for the School musical with a new girl when it is so close to the championship.
Gabriella- A friendship between these two isn't really shown in the first High School Musical but it is in the other ones. Chad at first doesn't like her because she is taking Troy's focus away from the basketball championship however they do eventually have a friendship.
Zeke- They are close team mates.
Taylor- They first do not like each other however they form an alliance to split Troy and Gabriella up because they feel as if the pair are not focused on both the upcoming science decathlon and the championship but they end up teaming up together again after finding that they had make Troy and Gabriella upset and make everything right, this makes them become very close.
Sharpay- Chad is shown from the beginning, having a dislike for Sharpay and her whole aesthetic because he doesn't like the drama club as well as he finds her interest in Troy funny.
Ryan- The same with Sharpay. Chad doesn't like Ryan because he feels as if they share no interests however later on in High School Musical two they become friends and chad even shows Ryan how to be himself rather then stay in the shadow of his sister.
Ms Darbus- Chad feels as if Ms Darbus takes her musicals too seriously because he thinks its a joke, this is a massive reason on why he later makes Troy feel so bad.
Coach Bolton- Apart from Troy, Chad is the best on the basketball team, in result to this, the coach is Chads role model.

In New Mexico, they have the lowest teacher to student ratio which is 1:15 in America. The educational system is full of public schools, charter schools which are schools that are selective of who they accept, they also have what they call Magnet schools which are schools that specialize in specific areas, for example, Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) or Performing/ visual arts and they all follow the core subjects which are English and Mathematics however they do have a high dropout rate, they also have the highest percentage of Hispanic students in America.

What it is like in the movie in comparison to reality-
In the movie there is not a huge representation of the Hispanic culture in comparison to reality which is the minority of the school are Hispanic as well as because East High was a public school it would have been publicly funded however although the state did give more money towards the sports program rather then the arts in the movie, the amount of money the program will have got compared to the reality of funding the arts programs get in public schools in New Mexico is higher then what is right for the state, the way it is funded would make it seem it is a magnet school rather than public however that is not what the school in the movie is.

Peter Barsocchini who wrote the first draft of what would become High School Musical in 2004, was born in 1952 in San Francisco, he went on to graduate from the University of California with a degree in Creative writing.

Barsocchini first wrote the draft of the musical for his daughter who shares the same name as the lead female in the musical, Gabriella, he then took it to Disney and they wanted to produce and then released the musical, because the film did so good, two sequels followed and broke records themselves.

Because of the way High School Musical was written both in the screenplay and the musical aspects to it, Barsocchini was able to capture audiences of all ages because he adapted the classic story of Shakespeare's tragedy, Romeo and Juliet, and took a modern twist to it, for example rather than make the two main characters from rival families he made them be from different friendship groups. He also used his musical background to also make this adaption unique.

Angela T (23rd April 2013), Name: Peter Barsocchini, From: Prezi

My character, Taylor looks up to Harriet Tubman because she is a woman's spokesmen but more importantly because she is a well known "underground railway conductor" and what they did was smuggle slaves from the south up north where it was safe for them as well as it meant that the slaves wouldn't be slaves anymore.

Born as Araminta Ross in 1820 as a black slave and in 1849 she escaped then changed her name to Harriet while taking on her husbands name which was Tubman, because of her strong religious beliefs she then became an "underground railway conductor", she saved over 300 slaves, she worked hard to save money and because people noticed the good work she did people donated and then she saved more slaves.

She also had a big impact on the civil war, she became a nurse as well as a cook, laundress but more importantly she was a spy and scout and she did so until the "Emancipation Proclamation" which was the declaration of all slaves in America being set free made by President Lincoln, which meant for Harriet Tubman her work for fighting and freeing slaves was paid off and no longer needed.

She then after supported herself along with the people she helped through her own Vegetable garden and then after saving up she opened a school for African Americans while she spook about women's rights and then the final thing she did in her life was building a home for the elderly and that was opened in 1908 which was five years before her death at the old age of 93.

My characters role models-Eleanor Roosevelt-

Eleanor Roosevelt born a miss Anna Eleanor Roosevelt in 1884 was the 32nd first lady of the united states but was also a United Nations diplomat as well as a humanitarian.

Born into a wealthy family she was privately educated in her home in America until she was 15 which is when she went to Allenswood which is a girls’ boarding school just outside London and she attended that until she was 18 in which was when she returned to America, while being at boarding school she was inspired by her headmistress, Marie Souvestre, she influenced Roosevelt a lot while she attended the school.

When Roosevelt returned to America and devoted her time to the community to taught in a settlement house, and within that time she and her future husband who would later be known as President Franklin Roosevelt begin courting and then the married in 1905.

In 1911 her husband, Franklin, won a seat in the New York Senate which meant that Roosevelts would move to Albany, Eleanor became a political wife and then in 1913 her husband again got a promotion which made him assistant secretary of the navy so the family then moved to Washington, D.C., Eleanor performed her duties as her husbands wife and partook in social events, attending formal parties and also making social calls to other government officials homes however she longed for more and with the world war she was able to volunteer again much to her delight.

Part of her volunteering was visiting the wounded soldiers as well as she worked in the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society and in the Red Cross canteen, this gave her enjoyment and a sense of purpose and then when her husband lost the votes for vice president, Eleanor became interested in politics, she became a massive pushing force for Franklin after he got polio in 1921 and had lost his ability to feel below his waist, becoming invested in politics made her able to partake in organizations that she believed in for example she joined the Women’s Trade Union League and then also became active in the New York state Democratic Party. Being a member of the Legislative Affairs Committee of the League of Women Voters, she also started studying the Congressional Record, learning about the voting records and debates.

Franklin became governor of New York in 1929, and with that Eleanor found the opportunity to combine her responsibilities of a political hostess and her own budding career, she and two friends of hers purchased a school called Todhunter, which is a girls’ school in Manhattan in which she taught at.

Much to her and her husbands benefit, her hard work over the years paid off and Franklin became the 32nd president and over her 12 years as the first lady she accomplished a lot, for example, she instituted regular White House press conferences for the women correspondents and forced the press like the newspapers to employ women as well something else she was because her husband was not able to do so, she traveled all over America on tours then reported back to her husband as his ears and eyes then at the beginning of 1936 she started to write daily on the syndicated newspaper column, “My Day.” Which allowed her to connect to the people on a different level and in that she took a huge interest in the child welfare and the housing reform, equal rights for women and more importantly because of the time, racial minorities.

Away she showed her support and love towards other communities was in 1939, when the Daughters of the American Revolution otherwise known simply as the DAR, banned an African American opera singer named Marian Anderson, perform at the Constitution Hall, Eleanor resigned her membership in the DAR and held a concert in the Lincoln Memorial which turned into a big celebration in which 75,000 people went to, also in a public meeting, local officials in Alabama, wanted the seating to be segregated by race, in retaliation, Eleanor carried a folding chair to all of the meetings and then her seat in the centre aisle.

After her husband's death in 1945, the current President made Eleanor responsibility to the United Nations (UN), and she was the chairman of the Commission on Human Rights from 1946 to 1951, she also was a major part in the drafting and adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights in 1948.

Then within the last part of her life, she was an active part within the Democratic Party and worked for Democratic presidential nominee Adlai Stevenson between 1952 to 1956. And then President John F. Kennedy in 1961, made her chair of his Commission on the Status of Women, she did that before she passed away in 1962.

And that is why she's a key role model for my character because of her work within the fight for gender equality and race equality too.

Another role model for Taylor is Rosa Parks because of her activeness in the civil rights movement, What Rosa is famous for is her social movement in 1955 on the 1st of December, instead of going to the back of the bus which was for African Americans she sat in the "white" section and instead of moving when asked, she refused, which was a sign that the times were changing even though she did get arrested.

Born into an African American family in the year 1913 in Tuskegee, Alabama she grew up witnessing racial hate and violence and Rosa married a man called Raymond Parks who was a local barber but he too was fighting to end racial injustice. Together they worked on many social justice organizations. She was then after a little bit of time, was elected secretary for the Montgomery chapter of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP).

Before the Montgomery Bus Boycott, she had already established herself as an organizer and leader in the Civil Rights Movement in Alabama and when she did the act of not giving up her seat she was arrested and then lost her job so she and her husband moved to Hampton in Virginia but later moved permanently to Detroit, Michigan and she continued her work in the Detroit’s Civil Rights Movement as well however in 1980 she was widowed and because she had worked endlessly to get equality she was both suffering from health and financial problems and then after being nearly evicted from her home, the local community in Detroit gave back to her, supporting her and then her life ended in 2005 after years of fighting for equality for all.

Stereotypical female characters in Musicals-

Grease- Sandy
This character is a very good representation because Grease follows the same Shakespearean story like High School Musical does too which is Romeo and Juliet, Sandy is presented as a soft, quiet and pure kinda girl, she's very girly and falls in love with Danny who is main male character and bad boy, all throughout the musical she is shy and reserved but also she's quite weak in the sense that she couldn't smoke or drink and even see her own blood without feeling faint and then, in the end, she changes to fit what she thinks Danny would like meaning that she lost her identity at the end which is different to what my character is because Taylor wouldn't and didn't change for Chad.
link- https://grease.fandom.com/wiki/Sandy_Olsson
Mean girls- Regina
Being the main antagonist of the story, Regina is the typical mean girl who only has her money and looks going for her although she's highly intelligent rather than focusing on that Regina makes it her time to bring down other characters around her which makes her unlike my character because Taylor uses her intelligence for her benefit by investing it in school and while she does that she also lifts other people up.
link-https://meangirls.fandom.com/wiki/Regina_George
The Little Mermaid- Ariel
Because Ariel feels as if because she's a mermaid, that the man whom she's falling in love at first sight, won't accept her so she makes a deal with a witch and changes herself to fit him, because all she wants is a man and the fact that she thinks cant be herself around him makes her a stereotypical character because she doesn't think that he could like intelligence or personality over her appearance is more important and this is something my character dispises.
link- https://disney.fandom.com/wiki/Ariel
My fair lady- Eliza
This is a prime example of a stereotypical female character in musicals because she completely changes what made her herself to become what other people would like which is a lady, in the process of her becoming a lady she's humiliated and made to feel lower then she is by the man in which she finds herself to love.
link- https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0058385/plotsummary
