I think it was a good choice for the director not to add it because it might be graphic to watch someone try to attempt suicide in general it pretty graphic but caleb said wasnt that the whole purpose of the movie cause most people that have watched the movie have read the book we would assume.

I think it's a good choice because, there's been enough violence towards kids in the book. Ending it off with not showing Sohrab suicide attempt in the movie would be better for the audience. Also, we don't fully understand why he did it so showing it wouldn't be dramatic.

The director shouldn't include the scene of sohrab attempting suicide, because the scene is too graphic to show in the form of a movie. Adding this scene would make it harder to reach a happy ending without it feeling depressing.

I think that the film version didn't put the suicide part because I think they didn't think it was a big part in the story and how some people would look at it and they know some people in real life go through somethings like that.
I believe they should have put it in the movie because we could see how the person really feel. Also know that if a person have been through all he has gone through then they would have some type of way of showing it. Also I believe it's a big part of the story and we can see why they did it and we can know to watch that person.

I think the director of the film version does not include the attempted suicide scene because it s too graphic. When it comes to films and movies things like that can change the rating of it and that can effect sales. Another reason I think the Director does not include the scene is because of its little importance. The scheme plays a role in the plot but maybe its not large enough to show when in a movie you have so much to show in not a large time frame.

I think this is a good choice because the attempted suicide would have been really gruesome and graphic. Also I feel like it would have also been cool to just have the character say how he tried to kill himself or show the scars after he tried to do that to himself. I think he did good not putting in his attempted suicide

The movie director left out the suicide because that is extremely graphic for the audience to view. Especially a child attempting suicide. It may serve as a trigger to some who have attempted suicide and that is just a negative reaction that no one wishes upon another. Reading an attempted suicide and watching one are two extremely different different sensory experiences. It’s harder for the audience to visualize that scene from just a description but when it is viewable that is just something an audience couldn’t handle. It’s to graphic.

Hosseini included the suicidal scene in the book to really dramatize it and show to what extent Sohrab was suffering. Even after everything Amir and Hassan went through they never considered anything like suicide as children. Hosseini wanted to show how negatively effected this new generation of Afghans is. They’ve been victims of the loss of loved ones and witnesses to war, so in a sense, these kids are traumatized.
