         <description><![CDATA[<p>Lea, Ellen, Jocelyn, Kayla </p><p><br/></p><p><strong>What is it? </strong></p><p>It is a Cockatoo.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>To what other species it is related?</strong> </p><p>Cockatoo is related to a group of cacatuidae.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>What does it look like? </strong></p><p>Cockatoo have predominantly black or white plummage with hints of red, pink, or yellow, while parrots have mostly green plumage with hints of red, pink, or yellow. The bight colors come from a pigment called psittacofulvin. </p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Where does it live?</strong> </p><p>Cockatoo live in Australia, Papua New Guinea, Indonesia, the Salomon Islands and the Philippnies.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>How does it moves?</strong> </p><p>Cockatoo are nomadic in their movements, travelling in small groups or huge flocks to areas eith an abundant food supply, often in connection with the seasons. </p><p><br/></p><p><strong>What does it eat?</strong> </p><p>Cockatoo eats seeds, fruits, nuts, berries, flowers, and vegetation.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Is it endangered? </strong></p><p>Some species of Cockatoo is endangered. Like the Carnaby's Black Cockatoo.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>What are its predators?</strong> </p><p>Paregrine Falcons, Little Eagles and Wedgetail Eagle may feed on adult cockatoo's whilst, newly-fledged birds are vulnarable to predition by Brown Falcons and Australian Goshawks.</p>]]></description>

Brush Turkeys</p><p>   2. Malleefowl</p><ol start="3"><li><p>Nicobar Pigeon</p></li></ol><p>• The Maleo is a large bird with a rounded body, about 60 cm long. Its plumage is black and gray with a white underbelly, and it has yellow-orange accents on its wings and tail. The Maleo's head features a prominent crest. Its long, strong legs are well-suited for a ground-dwelling lifestyle.</p><p>• Maleo birds live in the forests of Sulawesi and nearby islands, favoring lowland tropical areas near volcanic regions for nesting. Their habitat is threatened by deforestation and human activities.</p><p>• Maleo birds primarily walk and run on the ground, as they are not adapted for long-distance flight.</p><p>• Maleo birds mainly eat a diet of seeds, fruits, and small invertebrates. They forage on the forest floor for these food sources, using their strong beaks to dig and search.</p><p>• maleo birds are considered endangered. Their populations are declining due to habitat loss, hunting, and disturbance of their nesting sites. Conservation efforts are in place to protect their remaining habitats and increase awareness of their plight.</p><p>• Maleo birds face threats from various predators, including mammals like feral dogs and cats, as well as birds of prey. Eggs and chicks are particularly vulnerable to predation. Habitat loss also increases their exposure to these predators.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Vicky, Hana, Yefta, Vare</p><p><br/></p><p>Cassowary bird is a large bird species native to<strong> </strong>the tropical forests of Papua New Guinea and Northern Australia. The scientific name is Casuarius casiuarius and they belong to the family Casuariidae.</p><p><br/></p><p>Cassowaries can stand up to 6 feet tall and weigh between 100 to 150 pounds. Their feathers colors are vibrant blue, and black plumage. They also have long legs and a distinctive casque.</p><p><br/></p><p>The diet of Cassowary birds are fruits, seeds, and insects. Their powerful legs help the cassowary to run up to 50 kilometers/h through the dense forests underbrush. </p><p><br/></p><p>The Cassowary bird is endangered because the population of southern cassowary is declined. Their predators are crocodiles, pythons, dingoes, and quolls.</p>]]></description>

It was formerly considered conspecific with the Javan trogon under the common name blue-tailed trogon. It's scientific name is Apalharpactes mackloti.</p><p><br/></p><p> The male is blue-grey with a red beak and a pale blue patch of skin around the eye, the male also has a dark reddish rump patch, which <strong>female lacks</strong>.</p><p><br/></p><p> It is endemic to the Indonesian island of Sumatra. Its natural habitat is subtropical or tropical moist montane forest. </p><p><br/></p><p>Their diet is varied and includes insects, fruit, and small vertebrates that can fit inside their beaks. </p><p><br/></p><p>Their leg muscles are also so small that they cannot walk, or even turn while perched without using their wings.</p><p><br/></p><p> They are not endangered species, in fact they are predators that wait motionless on a branch until prey is spotted, then they attack. </p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p>]]></description>
