One hundred years ago, Henry Ford and his team launched the world’s greatest contribution to manufacturing the first moving assembly line. It simplified the production of the assembly line by breaking it into 84 distinct steps performed by groups of workers as a rope pulled the vehicle chassis down the line. they ended up reducing the money and time needed to build cars he remade many creations of the assembly line over the years and Ford was able to drop the price of the Model T from $850 to less than $300. In 1914 ford instituted the 5 dollar work day witch at that time was a big deal witch created loyalty between for and his workers causing them to only perches vehicles from ford himself. Eventually over time ford was capable of building a model t every 24 seconds and sold more than 15 million worldwide by 1927. (Ford, para 8, 2017)

Due to the times they were in many many years ago workers in factory's were over worked with such little pay. "In 1900, a contractor could set up a shop for as little as $50. All it took was a couple of sewing machines, a few tables and chairs, a place to work, and brazen self-confidence". (sweatshops,1880-1940,10) Also in the late 18 sentry and the early 19 sentry the standers of living was very cheap due to the amounts them guys were payed they were constantly working 18 hour shits and would sometimes be denied to take a brake."Fierce competition among contractors for work and immigrants’ desperate need for employment kept wages down and hours up".(sweatshops,1880-1940,2) their living conditions back then wasn't the greatest and were very small such as a little shed/shack.

Back in the early 19th century they slowly started seeing the rise of major businesses witch was a big deal back then due to the lack of pay and safety when it came to factory's. " Big business firms broke themselves into different functions, or "departments," and used managers to coordinate the work of departments, and "middle managers" to coordinate work among departments".(the rise, 1,1920) Business were finally able to find other manufacturers to come in to there stores causing the business to grow and become big. kinda like amazon when they first started it was a small business and over the years they have grew to one of the most biggest companies in the world. "Thus when Americans shopped in 1912, they were likely to encounter a "big business." In their stores, moreover, they were likely to find products manufactured by "big businesses."(the rise, 5,1920)
