Lady Macbeth is portrayed in a extremely negative light along with the majority of other women in the play, I believe that this is because of the sexism that existed at the time that it was written.

I find the women's names in the play very interesting, Lady Macbeth and Lady Macduff's names seam to be directly linked to their husbands names, wich perpetuates the common consensus at the time that a wife is the husbands property.

Links back to when she claimed that a little water could clear her hands from the deed. This shows how Lady Macbeth is growing increasingly remorseful.
