In the market to sustain demand is always more than you think be in corporate or business. If you deliver everything as suited everything go smooth or you will be at the back street. 
In India what I can find that lack of quality craftmanship & non-skill vendors what is a major challenge. No one wants to follow rules & regulations may be at on-site or off-site.

Five years ago I founded an organisation dedicated to supporting disadvantaged communities with cricket equipment. I have enrolled in this course to hopefully transform my Cricket Kindness Initiative into a sustainable profitable Social Enterprise. This will enable me to assist many more impoverished communities, and also draw a salary for myself as the CEO for the many hours I work voluntarily. 

There will literally always be an endless supply of quality sporting equipment, both redundant superseded new kit, and pre-loved outgrown gear, able to up-cycled in well resourced countries, and sent on to poorly resourced communities desperate for sporting equipment. The funny photo attached of me swimming in cricket gear is evidence! All it takes is the time to collecting vast quantities, packing it up, setting up distribution networks with recipients and raising funds to transport it. There are obvious wide reaching humanitarian and environmental benefits to this large scale project, ensuring first world excess is not wastefully discarded.

I need to devise ways to keep financing my humanitarian work. I don't come from a business background and my hope is that this course will help crystalize the ways this is possible. I also always hoped to expand support to educational resources and breakfast programs in communities where children arrive at school hungry.

From a young age I've been a keen on the business world and educating myself on such topics as the stock market which is why i went to do a summer course a brown university at the age of 15 on the topic.

My real passion is entrepreneurship as i love bringing people together and solving problems as a team but also having the space for limitless creativity and the ability to bring ideas to fruition. I graduated university 2 years ago and started a street food business just after. We operated in several markets around London and had a permanent stand in Mercato Metropolitano. The first year of starting a business is always the hardest and unfortunately Covid struck which completely shattered my industry and meant we had to close the business. I learnt a lot about managing a business and all the finite details that go into it but also covid taught me to be aware of other opportunities as many businesses still managed to thrive through Covid.

It is a pleasure to virtually meet you all. My name is Somayeh, and I live in Hertfordshire, UK. 

I am a qualified nurse from Iran but decided to move to the UK 16 years ago to pursue a career in law and business.  Aside from my work experience as a nurse in Iran, I had been working in the Health and Social Care sector in the UK in various positions until 2 years ago when I completed my LPC and MSc in Law and Business.  Since 2019, I have been working in a public law firm advising the local government on public law matters. I am also the co-founder at Reach Outstanding Care (“ROC”), a company providing bespoke support to social care organisations to improve their service standards. I am also involved in community based voluntary projects, as I am a big advocate of social justice.  

Recently I have decided to establish a law firm under the social enterprise structure to provide legal services in both immigration law, and public law including community care and social care at affordable prices, to provide people from BAME communities, disadvantage backgrounds, and individuals who cannot afford city firm prices, with the opportunity to access legal services.

As it is rightly said in the introduction, and given I have already started up a consultancy business, I have learnt that not every business idea makes it to success if the foundation work is not done well.  Hence, I am here to develop my entrepreneurial skills and more importantly bounce ideas with like-minded people globally, with the view that I finish the course with a stronger plan to turn my idea into a venture that can benefit our communities, particularly post-pandemic where there has been a significant rise in social injustice.

In my own time, I am a keen runner and have been running Marathons and Half-Marathons to raise fund for charities.

I'm Cameron, originally from Australia now living in Vancouver, Canada for the past 15 years. I work as a sub specialty physiotherapist with an eye to move from the clinical side into the business side in the next couple of years. I have worked as a clinician for the past 20 years, have taught at university and pre-pandemic spent the last 5 years shuttling across Canada teaching from the west to the east coast teaching privately. My interests are now moving towards online delivery of specialty information along with local development of a more advanced MSK health service in British Columbia. 

I was eyeing an eMBA or MOM, and landed on this LBS course and it looked like a great place to start learning the business / venture side - I'm looking forward to making the most of a busy 12 weeks!

Very excited to meet everyone and especially during a time when the pandemic makes anything outside of the home look like a true vacation :)

I am Canadian with Syrian origin residing in Marbella, Spain. I am an electrical engineer by education but I spent most of my career in sales and sales management in companies such as Sun Microsystems (now part of Oracle), Computer Associates and Microsoft in the Middle East and Saudi Arabia.

After I left Microsoft (2 years ago) I took a one year sabbatical and decided not to work for corporates anymore.  I took two courses at MIT Sloan around digital transformation and Artificial Intelligence and as part of the weekly projects I developed an idea that I want, and hope, to bring to reality.

The solution is based on AI and ML in robotic process automation. Then I hit a wall: Is it a good idea, any need for it, investors want an MVP before talking more, financing the development, etc...  So, I almost gave up.  At least I have the logo ready  :-)

I decided to take this course to validate the idea and go through the entire process of a pre-startup.

It is lovely to read about every ones journey, experiences and dreams. I feel privileged to be a part of this course and look forward to the next 12 weeks.

I have gained certain expertise in the hospitality industry in India and have over 30 years of experience in this industry spanning from hotels, institutional catering, reverse auctions, hotel transactions, bespoke consulting  and market feasibility studies. This course provides me a fantastic opportunity to look at what I know anew and add supplementary skills.

I am part of a team which is creating what we hope is the world’ first carbon neutral hotel chain.  Pre-covid, I used to divide my time between Mumbai and London in search of investors for Eco Hotels. Our hotels are built on a promise of being both Economical and Ecological.

Our plan is for an initial raise of £5 mn. Most of my time is now spent on Zoom calls trying to pitch investors. So far we have had favorable feedback about our venture from potemtial investors but have not really managed to convert it into a meaningful sized cheque and I often wonder what to do next? 

My daughter, whose favourite TV show is Shark Tank, is also my advisor and had asked me earnestly to think about the reasons why people are not investing in Eco Hotels? Given the framework of this course I intend to explore just that  while hoping to engineer some workable solutions  using the diverse experience and collective expertise of the group here.

I have used the Covid induced downtime to mentor a couple of student led technology projects, conduct webinars on hospitality, write blogs and learn new things. I am a regular contributor to the Economic Time Hospitality World and below is the link to my latest article.

Other than the above I am passionate about cooking, bio-dynamic farming, reading and an avid seeker. On some rare occasions when the words find me I type poems on my phone. With a sense of purpose and a strong perspective, I am always happy to lend a helping hand to the other seekers in the world. My passion is to create sustainable solutions stemming from our ever-changing needs.

I live in Mumbai and work as a content strategist for a mutual fund house in India. As a content person, I've worked both as a freelancer and as a corporate editor and have written in a variety of formats chiefly for businesses in the financial services industry like investment banks, equity houses and asset managers. I 've even worked for some consulting firms like BCG. 

In my current role I lead the content effort and manage the editorial calendar for my firm. I hold a Masters degree in Management from LSE and used to work as a financial consultant in London during the early years of my career. 

My journey from consulting to content was unexpected. I  started a venture in 2012 selling prep material and revision apps to students writing the CFA exams. It was an expensive effort even though I did achieve breakeven and it was completely self-funded. A couple of years hence I took on a corporate job to grow that business, but I realised belatedly that that was a counterproductive move.

 7 years hence the bug has bitten again and here I am! I haven't decided what I want to do as an entrepreneur. But I do feel better prepared to take on the risks this time. I am excited to join LBS program and learn about new venture creation to leap into the journey of being an entrepreneur. Really, I am not sure about what business to initiate, however, I am sure that one day I will be making huge difference to young minds by inculcating entrepreneurial mindset that can prepare them for the future work as  a  an entrepreneur, employee and responsible citizen in 21st century.

I always had in the back of my mind the desire of setting up a business and becoming an entrepreneur. Both my father and sister were entrepreneurs in my country.

I live in Mumbai, India. I'm a Bioanalytical Science post graduate and I pivoted my role to a Content Strategy and further into marketing strategy and business development role within startups. I am currently leading the India business of the multinational digital media organisation - Hello Health Group - which is involved in democratisation of healthcare knowledge by serving the non-English internet users in Asia Pacific.

From a functional point of view, I have an in-depth understanding of digital marketing strategies + online media strategies, especially for the health and wellness industry. Other than designing GTM, strategies for competitive differentiation and growth, my typical week at Hello Health Group involves overseeing operational excellence within a team of 20+ editorial/marketing/BD folks and build meaningful relationships with health/wellness clients.

From an aptitude and interest point of view, I love telling stories, am told to have a creative and analytical brain (prefer to use the creative side more), like to explore possibilities within tech, combined with concepts of gamification (industry agnostic) to make 'work' and 'routine' seem more like 'play' and 'fun' (in other words, build deeper engagement with the audience).

I am passionate about gourmet desserts, food, good wine and craft beers, have an inherent love towards bakers, an appreciation for brand stories, an OCD for appropriateness of the written language, and I love reading and writing (evidently).

Keen to connect with and share meaningful conversations with as many of you as possible.
