Many postgraduate centres and foundation schools have a register of tasters. Start by speaking with your ES, FPTD, or local postgraduate admin team and follow local guidance for applying.

Tasters are usually within your base hospital, but may be arranged elsewhere, including different training regions for specialized fields. Be aware that contractual issues may arise in these cases.

To arrange a taster, you’ll need to take leave from your current placement. F1s can often use F2 study leave for this. A reflection must be completed at the end of the taster in your e-portfolio. Contact the Medical Education team to apply: Foundation Teaching & Tasters | Medical Education at Medway.
