One example of this was during my fourth clinical week of N320, a patient's family member questioned the need for antibiotics when the client was having a hypersensitivity reaction to the treatment (rashes over the body). I educated her that the antibiotics were necessary to help prevent any infection and that the client was being given proper medical treatment for the hypersensitivity reaction. Provided total care to 6 different individuals on a one week rotation, including vitals, medication administration, enteral feeding, wound care, and therapeutic communication.

Nurse 220: Queen's Orthopedic Department 96 hours at Queen's Tower 8. Provided total care to 6 different patients on a one week rotation. I provided medication administration (oral, IV, IV piggybacks), wound dressing changes, Glucose checks and insulin shots, vaccination shots, and pin care. I also shadowed a wound nurse on two separate shifts, performing wound dressing changes and 13 wound vacs under wound nurse supervision.

Nurse 320: 60 hours at Queen's Maternity Emma Tower 10. Provided total care to L&D, Newborns, and postpartum patients. I administered meds, full head-to-toe assessments, and watched a C-section.
60 hours at Tripler Pediatrics department. I was able to assess and observe various procedures such as EDGs, colonoscopies as well as had the privilege of being a part of a code team as a documentation nurse for my patient during a status epileptics episode.

Nurse 360: 60 hours at Queen's Kakela/pediatric Psychiatric department. Provided psychiatric mental health skills to patients with mental illnesses. Engaged in therapeutic activities in conjunction with the OT and my classmates.  Comfortable to engaging 1:1 with patients while using assessment tools such as Suicide risk, BURNS anxiety/depression, etc., and assessing each patient. 
96 hours at Kuakini Respiratory Department.
