I'm Cassandra Bagolor from Grade 11 - Rubio! I like listening to music and I have very niche interests, which makes me a "geek" apparently. I don't have a favorite genre of music because I listen to pretty much everything but my top 1 singer is Ariana Grande. I'm 17 and I don't like to read but I still digest a lot of information because social media has made it easy to do so. I go through a lot of shows, from K-dramas to Western TV shows from the 90's to the 2000's. I like to watch crime shows or documentaries often, so I also get nightmares often in the process. I consume a lot of media, particularly social media because I watch TikTok very often. I think half or maybe more than half of my day is spent consuming media. From watching Youtube, TikTok, Facebook, Messenger, and Instagram. I watch informational videos often about very random things, that's why I may know a little bit of everything. But, I find myself enjoying cooking videos the most, because I like the way I think about how the food tastes and I get hungry. My favorite Western series right now is in between "Suits" and "Brooklyn-NineNine". But "The Office" will always have a hold on my heart, I recommend it everytime when someone asks. I don't like to read novels but I read the Percy Jackson books. But ironically, I enjoy reading news from Facebook. And that's all for my media consumption :)

Hey! soooooooooooo I'm 17 years old. My friends tell me I'm a hard person to find, in a good way. I think I'm a kind person, because I give my all into everything, including how I take care of my friendships. I work hard to things I'm committed to, and I'm mostly committed to my academics. It's been my whole life from the very start. I value my relationships very much, maybe even too much. And, I don't think it bothers me to love more than the other person. I don't find myself seeking reciprocation from others when I genuinely just like being with them. I don't like to make enemies because my mom always taught me that I can't please everybody. I'm a family-oriented person, and my friends all know that. I put others first more than I do myself, and I can't help but continue doing so. I have so much love in my heart to give, given to me by my parents when I was growing up. I put others first like how my parents put me first. And luckily, I learned how to love others because of them. And yet, I still struggle to find love for myself BUT that's another topic for another day.

my achievements:

Like I said, I'm mostly committed to my academics as I've never been good at anything else. From Kindergarten to Senior High School, I have been a consistent honor student. My mom used to tell me a story on how I got so bored at my daycare school that I complained to her and said that I wanted a harder curriculum. We were learning how to write letters, but I could already write, count, and speak at that time. She also told me before I was 1 year old, I had already learned how to speak. And when I was 1, I could already recite and memorize animals, speak, recite the alphabet, and count. In elementary, I consistently placed 3rd in the academic rankings in my class. I was from Sta. Ana Central Elementary School, and I was their candidate for science quiz bees, math quiz bees, reading contests, human word factory, and critical thinker's quests. That's why people who also had the same path as me, would recognize me as I met them in those contests. I led my school to victory every time. I didn't pass the PISAY entrance exam hence the reason why I'm not there, but I passed the UIC entrance exam and received a certificate for placing second place on the rankings of the test. I also passed the STE program entrance exam at Davao City National High School and I chose to go there because my friends went there. But eventually, I learnt to love the program. The curriculum is very intense and often brings me pressure, but I still attained honor certificates from every grade and every quarter. I am used to research since we've been having it since 7th grade. And that leads me as to what I consider my greatest achievement, participating and winning in a National Research Fair held by DepEd every year. At my last high school year, I won and participated in that contest individually. I went to Manila to attend the contest and had the chance to represent not only my school, but also our region. Out of 20 teams our school provided, I was the last man standing. I won an award for Best Project in the National Science and Technology Fair 2024. I brought my school back to the top, and I was the only 10th grader to bring my school to that contest. Anyway, other achievements of mine include winning Rubik's cube contests. I found this hobby when I was in elementary and I randomly joined a schoolwide contest in high school and surprisingly won second place. I won again in 9th and 10th grade but won 3rd place. And since I won in 10th grade, I got to join a National cubing contest in Baguio city. But I didn't win lol, I still had so much fun though. I am currently a Top 500 scholar here in Ateneo and I'm still an honor student hehe. I don't like to brag but considering I have 30+ medals and uncountable certificates, it's very hard. Just kidding. In all seriousness, I had always been taught to stay down to earth and to always be humble. This had always been engraved in my heart, mind, and soul, by my parents and by my mentors. I know I have achieved a lot and there's still so many to include, but I think that's enough to know what kind of person I am.

I'm part of the LGBTQ+ community! I'm asexual, which means I find it hard to be sexually attracted to people. But more on that, I am usually more attracted to women more than men. This always had a toll on me, when I was still figuring myself out. But now, I accept myself as my family also does. I've learned that I can't change the way I am and that my parents will love me no matter what my gender identity is. Because, I am their child, and nothing is going to change that. My sister is also part of the community, so the burden was shared (joke!!).

I have a father, a mother, and an older sister. My sister and I have an 11 year age gap, so sometimes we find it hard to have similar/relatable interests. But, we still get along very well because we are very alike, as people say. I love my father very much but he can get very overprotective, and so I get annoyed sometimes. He buys me everything I ask for, but I'm a shy and very grateful person so I don't ask for a lot. Sometimes, my family members use that as an advantage and use me as a ticket to get my father to buy us things. I'm usually with my mother because she's a teacher at Sta. Ana National High School. Our campuses are just beside each other, so we go home together every day. I basically grew up in her faculty, and so I still go there from time to time to go home with my mother. I find that going home together with her is my favorite rest after a long day at school. They are very supportive and very loving and I am very fortunate to have such a happy family. I give them credit for everything I have achieved, because without them I wouldn't be as I am now. They might never know how much I love them, because I really do love them very much more than words can express. They're the reason why I'm here now, and I will forever be grateful.

I have a lot of friends... you can find them all in this picture. They have been with me through my ups and downs and have always given me the love and support I needed to get through my hardships. This is the batch 28 of the STE program in DCNHS, and I found it agonizing to realize that we won't be seeing each other as much as we did in the past 2 years together. I still miss them and I still wonder what it would had been like if I had stayed. They're still the people I hang out with outside, and we still support each other through everything. I love them very much and I will always wish them well on their endeavors. I miss having such a peaceful and nourishing environment, open to growth, wisdom, and knowledge. I miss the friendly competition, and the way we root for each other every time. I am very thankful for them, and they always make it to my prayers.

I have a partner! We've been together for 2 years since 2022. We knew each other since 2021 since we were classmates in 8th grade. I had a crush on her because she looked very pretty and one thing led to another. If I would tell our whole story, it would be writing a book, a very good one at that. We have been through a lot, and I find myself comfortable and at peace just being by her side. She knows me like no other, like my own family does. My family loves her, and this makes me very happy and lucky. To my family loving my best friend the way I do. I am aware that people change and we might not be the same people when we grow but, somehow this doesn't threaten me or scare me in any way. I want to focus on what's in front of us at the moment, and that is that I feel a different kind of warmth when we touch. I can't be certain that we'll stay like this forever, together, but I'm certain that I will work very hard to keep her by my side. Aside from my family, she's my pillar of support. She radiates joy and enthusiasm that is very contagious. Her smile is enough to make me fall to the ground and her eyes tell me more than her words do. She's my number 1 fan, and will probably be my last fan. I know all of this is very corny but I put all my heart into this. : ) She's my first love and hopefully my last, she deserves everything good.

I don't know how he made research fun, but it was very much so. He's the reason why I live and breathe research and why I'm very passionate about it. He brought me out of my shell, always guided me, and was always there for me when I needed anything. I don't think I could ever find someone like him, and I don't think he would know how much I appreciate him. He's the smartest person I know, he's like an encyclopedia. He always gives me wisdom and advice when I need it, and he understands me so much. His patience and dedication is incomparable, and he's the greatest teacher I know. He is very amazing and he leaves me in awe every time. He loves his students very much, and I'm very lucky to gain the opportunity of being taught by him.

Like I said, I have VERY niche interests. My interests range from Adventure Time to Spiderman (secretly, I am Spiderman). The most recent piece of media I am addicted to right now is the Netflix show: Arcane. I like these media because it fits in with what I'm interested in. I like very deep and meaningful stories, hence why I also enjoy crime documentaries. I like the complexity and the way it makes me think. Personally, I think the media I consume is what shaped the way I am now. For example, being exposed to cartoons in Disney and Nickelodeon and Western TV shows at a very early age made me have a more natural and extensive vocabulary in the English language. I knew how to speak good English because of that, and my grammar and customs when speaking and writing was majorly based of my knowledge from those pieces of media. And consuming so much also made me gain knowledge on lots of things which is also a good thing. Overall, I think it is healthy to me, mainly because I use it responsibly and to my advantage.
