""Arthur's the only friend I have in this stupid town"" (Hahn 121). For the majority of the book, Logan didn't really like Arthur. He didn't want to be friends and left with the 'nerd'. However, towards the end, when Logan is forbidden from seeing Arthur, he realizes how much the boy had grown on him. The quote above is said to Nina, the person behind the split.This quote symbolizes the growth Logan has achieved in understanding and accepting others.

The previous owner, Mrs Donaldson, was murdered in the basement. The police and many members of the town believed she was killed for a large amount of money she supposedly stole from the abandoned amusement park, The Magic Forest. With the Magic Forest threatened to be demolished, the pressure to find the money increases. I really enjoyed reading this book, and at times I had a hard time putting it down. I also appreciated that it was easy to connect with Logan and Arthur. I always been the socially awkward, nerd, who couldn't play a sport to save my life. I appreciated that Logan fought to keep his friend, even if his parents disapproved. I found the book entertaining with its elements of suspense, plot twists, and foreshadowing. Even though I enjoyed reading this book a lot, there were times when it was boring. The two boys on the bikes are there to represent Logan and Arthur, with the blonde being Arthur and the brunette being Logan. The boys are on bikes because they spent most of their time riding bikes, and the only way for them to reach the Magic Forest was by bike. The setting of the cover is dark, most likely representing either late night or early morning. The late night/early morning time period is the time period in which the last few chapters take place. The castle in the background represents one of the locations part of the park. The dead trees and kudzu are used a lot in describing the Magic Forest. The boys walk through a forest of trees and a wall of kudzu. Logan, as well as many others, hunt down clues and follow many dead ends. The reader is at the edge of their set as the story picks up suspense. The plot leaves you with these following main questions to think about : What is the true circumstances of Mrs. Donaldson's death? What happened to the missing money?
