Also available as an eBook on Kindle. This resource has value in its learning potential, however might be somewhat limited and redundant for those already familiar with the game. There are many topics divided into various sections within a menu on the organization's website. There are also options to search the website as a parent, coach, umpire, official, or administrator of the League which provide suggested resources for each role.

This is a wonderful resource for adults (i.e. parents, coaches, umpires, officials) to learn about their local Baseball league, the in-depth rules of the game, and so much more; all while having access to a wide range of resources related to helping kids play Baseball. This resource might be limited in that it is not geared toward a child audience, however the website contains a lot of resources that parents could connect their children with.

You can access statistics and data regarding many topics surrounding the professional League including various Major League statistics, revenue information, franchise values, Television ratings, MLB team twitter followers/Facebook fans, League interest, game attendance, and much, much more! You can also access data containing statistics focusing on the amount of High School Baseball players by gender or the amount of youth participants nationwide. This source has tremendous value in the massive amount of statistical information it holds for fans to learn more about the League.
Statista also has statistical datasets that are specific to each team in the MLB. This source might be limited in that you need a paid subscription to access content.

Once within the database, use "baseball statistics" as the keywords in a search to access several different resources which discuss the evolving and historical nature of Baseball statistics. The 11th search result on page 2 is a newspaper article from The New York Times entitled Baseball Statistics: How Much Is Enough? (Eskenazi, 1990).

Annotation:
This newspaper article explores the role and influence that statistics have played in defining success in the game of Baseball. The article focuses on statistics within Baseball as well as its history within the professional league from its very beginnings. This source is limited in that it might not be of interest to some less detail-oriented Baseball fans, however it does contain valuable information concerning the evolution of statistics in Baseball.
