Pros:
It would be a tragedy for the animals if zoos did not exist. Plus most of the animals at zoos are thriving. They are a good sourse of edication for us to learn about rare animals. Most of the time people who go to zoos change the way that they treat animals.
Cons:
The animals get taunted a lot and pace in their cages because of boardom. Some big cats have been known to 🤬 or severly hurt people. The birds and monkeys pick and groom each other until they have no fur or fethers left on their bodies. Being in cages drive the animals crazy and freak them out, so much in fact that some have died. Big cats have also been known to endlessly walk in circles. Some cat have been reported loose and the whole zoo was considered a crime seen. One cat in particular, mauled someone and the tiger was shot. So many lives have been lost and that is why I think that zoos should go down, but have places to rehabilitate animals if needed.

       < Jonathan scott/Moomill>

Do zoos really help animals well I don't think so, so what it's educational and they try to save animals. But think animals hurt themselves and get depressed and distressed and yes they don't want them to go extinct. But animals die for a reason they die to be free in life and they are not free when they are in zoos. They are here on earth to have a good life and they die thinking i had a good life not a caged up life. SO WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT ZOO'S?😄OR😠.

I’m wondering: Why did the police 🤬 the tiger? They could have sedated it and reinforced the cage. Although maybe they did that so that the people wouldn’t be upset that a tiger that had killed someone was living in the zoo. -Ethan

What I found most interesting about this article is that when animals are confined, they become bored or neurotic and start doing weird and freaky things... Tigers are pacing back and forth in their cages,Zoo elephants start swaying side to side, polar bears start swimming in endless circles, and monkeys or birds start "grooming" themselves until they have no fur or feathers left. Some people say that SOME zoos try their hardest to keep the animals from becoming bored or neurotic....Do you think that's true...answer in comments. _+*Ella*+_

What surprised me the most was the way that elephants acted. They would bob their heads, pace and act lonely. They are known for being very social animals and depend on each other to survive. I also thought that the story of Junior, the killer whale from Iceland, who was moved to a tank at Niagara Falls was very sad. The articles were mostly against zoos and said they were bad. Chloe!

Why would people put animals that aren’t inured in zoos? They probably were fine before in the wild and by putting them in zoos we are harming them. For example, animals are trying to escape and are pacing multiple times a day. -Hannah

Zoo-pinion The one thing I learned from reading this passage is about Zoochosis, and the fact that it makes big animals pace back and forth, birds and monkeys pluck their feathers or fur until they have no fur, or feathers left, elephants banging their head or biting the cage bar, polar bears swim in endless circles, and other animals even tear holes on their skin. I think that they should only just live out in the wild than living in a prison. The good reason is because zoos actually save endangered species and help educate people more about animals. ~Nicholas O. :3

I was very surprised to learn about some marine mammals in captivity. How sad! It made me think about how Sea World is not allowed to breed their orcas any more. It is because their environment is to small!
Most animals have the whole jungle, savanna, prairie, and ocean to survive in. But not animals in captivity! I think it is good to have zoos for educational purposes and for helping animals, but not for torturing and harming them, right? I have a mixed opinion about zoos.
-Jaidyn :)

Should they wild animal really be killed? No! The animal has now proven that it still knows how to hunt for its own food. Tranquilize it and return it to its natural habitat. It is not the animals fault that is was captured. However, zoos are good for educating children about God's creation of wild animals. Another reason zoos are good is for injured animals to be nursed back to health and then set free.

James
