Kinders discussed what these new and interesting Australian animals were like. Then we visualized what they would look like in different colors and sizes. All of us wanted to cuddle a wombat. Kinders looked and listened to 'talking Kookabrras' on YouTube. We wrote about how we are the same and how we are different. We have such an international class we could identify with the book. We described our old school and homes to our friends. We spoke about the different climates our friends and families live in. We also discussed the different foods. Our Grade One friends made their own fiction story based on the text. The moral of the story is, we are all the same on the inside. Some of our  tricks- "Go to the park all day". "Sleep and not go to school", " Go into Burger King and eat all the burgers for free", " Sneak past passport control and go to Miami and the rest of the world for free". On Friday we were able to 'Google Hangout' with a school in St. Petersburg, Florida- St. Paul Catholic School. They had even more crazy fun ideas. One of our new friends said she would put a snake in her mums bed!!! Aahh!. We discussed the animals that are free to 'walkabout' in our countries. We screamed when we found out they have alligators in Florida. Aaaaaaahhhhhh!!!

We tried a vegemite sandwich and did some opinion writing. Then we wrote about whether we liked it or not in our journals.
