https://padlet.com/bmarchetti1/7m6qo3wn4oa7xjh9 en-us 2021-07-09 20:35:28 UTC 2025-04-11 12:31:02 UTC hello@padlet.com https://padlet.net/icons/png/1f34e.png bmarchetti1 https://padlet.com/bmarchetti1/7m6qo3wn4oa7xjh9/wish/1643666381 To enhance the efficiency or effectiveness of the module, I feel that adding a video visually describing the steps of the activities would be helpful.  Although Haley and I incorporated many pictures of the steps of each activity, a video of us completing the activities may be more helpful.  The steps of activity 3 and 4 are more hands-on than activities 1 and 2, and thus, a video may be a better way to present them.  Also, Haley and I are going to be creating packets of materials to send to the YMCA to go along with the module.  This will help to enhance the content that is provided in the presentation.]]> 2021-07-09 20:41:52 UTC https://padlet.com/bmarchetti1/7m6qo3wn4oa7xjh9/wish/1643666381 bmarchetti1 https://padlet.com/bmarchetti1/7m6qo3wn4oa7xjh9/wish/1643666588 Although the development of this module went more smoothly than module #1, Haley and I did have a minor challenge creating certain parts of it.  First, Haley and I wanted to make our second module a little different than the first (in terms of the type of content to be included).  In other words, we both wanted to add a unique feature to module #2 to "teach the teacher."  We already had slides discussing the activities and introductory slides referencing the goal of the module.  However, we wanted to add in more information that provided reasoning behind the activities we developed.  From this, Haley and I thought about including a slide about the benefits of hands-on learning and a slide describing how to educate children about "colorful" plates.  This was not a major challenge for us, but it was still a moment where Haley and I had to think more deeply about how to "teach the teacher."  

Lastly, Haley and I had similar technology-related problems as module #1.  We replicated the same steps to record module #2 as we did in module #1, but having both Zoom and Google slides open at the same time interfered with this.  For some reason, having both of these windows open caused some of our slides to skip ahead and to lag behind.  Haley and I thought we had fixed this problem while recording module #1, but then experienced the same difficulty again while recording module #2.  Despite this challenge, however, Haley and I stayed patient and re-recorded each time our slides buffered.  Once we were able to get a full recording without any buffering, the completion of module #2's teaching module was a success!]]> 2021-07-09 20:42:15 UTC https://padlet.com/bmarchetti1/7m6qo3wn4oa7xjh9/wish/1643666588 bmarchetti1 https://padlet.com/bmarchetti1/7m6qo3wn4oa7xjh9/wish/1643666772 Overall, I felt that the development of teaching module #2 was an enjoyable and positive experience.  The utilization of Google slides went very well.  This modality was easy to use and allowed Haley and I to display our content in a creative way.  It gave us the opportunity to use colorful pictures and themes to enhance the content of the module.  Similar to the development of module #1, Haley and I had effective organizational and time management skills.  We made additional visual outlines of everything that we wanted to include in our presentation and then created a Google slide presentation.  By brainstorming things to include in our presentation, we were able to think of new ideas.  Furthermore, I also think that deciding what type of content to include in the module went better than module #1.  Haley and I knew what introductory topics we wanted to talk about, as well as what to include for the descriptions of each activity. Lastly, I felt that the way Haley and I gave each other feedback about our ideas was done in a respectful way.  As mentioned previously, we both appreciate when we provide each other with feedback about certain parts of the module that we do.  We feel like it not only strengthens our presentation, but feel that it also helps us to connect as a team (especially when we are each open to each other's ideas). ]]> 2021-07-09 20:42:32 UTC https://padlet.com/bmarchetti1/7m6qo3wn4oa7xjh9/wish/1643666772 bmarchetti1 https://padlet.com/bmarchetti1/7m6qo3wn4oa7xjh9/wish/1643666882 Overall, I felt that the development of teaching module #2 was a positive experience for me.  I honestly enjoyed the development of this module more than module #1 because Haley and I had a better understanding of where to start and what to include.  For example, while creating module #1, Haley and I struggled at first to think of content we wanted to include to "teach the teacher."  However, while creating module #2, this came easier to us.  Furthermore, one of my favorite aspects of the development of this module is that I had the opportunity to use my creativity in many ways.  For example, I was able to make the overall design of the powerpoint creative and colorful with step-by-step pictures of each activity.

Also, I felt that working in a group to develop module #2 was an enjoyable experience.  Haley was so reliable, and I could always count on her to come to each group meeting on time!  She provided awesome ideas for our module and respected all feedback that I provided to her.  I also appreciated that Haley respectfully gave me feedback about parts of the module that I completed.  Overall, we worked very well at communicating and staying consistent with deadlines we created.  I liked working in a group setting because it allowed me to recognize other people's perspectives, and fostered creativity!

Lastly, I also felt that being able to complete two modules throughout this semester was a fantastic way for us to be able to improve and grow as students.  I felt that the development of module #1 essentially served as a building block or foundation for the development of module #2.  The creation of the second module was better for Haley and I because we knew more of what to expect compared to the first module.  Also, I felt that by creating one module during one week and then creating another module the next week gave Haley and I just the right amount of time to look for ways we could make the second module more creative and unique.  I truly felt that being able to complete two separate modules allowed me to grow as a student because I was able to reflect upon how I could make the modules different, new and exciting for those viewing it.]]> 2021-07-09 20:42:43 UTC https://padlet.com/bmarchetti1/7m6qo3wn4oa7xjh9/wish/1643666882 bmarchetti1 https://padlet.com/bmarchetti1/7m6qo3wn4oa7xjh9/wish/1643666957 During the development of healthy habits teaching module #2, introductory topics, two activities and major themes were displayed on Google slides.  Similar to module #1, the main goal of the module was discussed, as well as the importance of the two activities.  We felt that this was a unique way to "teach the teacher" and to further educate about the topic of healthy habits.  Furthermore, the introductory topics that Haley and I included in our module included the benefits of gardening and hands-on learning, as well as the importance of community gardens and colorful plates.  Haley and I felt that these introductory topics would provide a brief overview of why we created the module and how it could benefit the children who participate in the activities.  As a team, Haley and I also decided to include more information in module #2 than in module #1 in order to "teach the teacher."
The activities that we created for this module included, "Planting a Rainbow" and "Planting a Garden."  Similar to module #1, the objectives, materials, steps, handouts, staff roles and space and time requirements were included.  This module contained more pictures and detailed steps, because it was recorded on Zoom to "teach the teacher" and because the activities were more hands-on.  Although I really would have enjoyed the experience of implementing this module at the YMCA, I still had a positive experience creating it virtually!]]> 2021-07-09 20:42:51 UTC https://padlet.com/bmarchetti1/7m6qo3wn4oa7xjh9/wish/1643666957
