The student I observed was very interested in the computer. It did not take long for her to make her way over to the computer and to begin playing games. The one game she played was quite interesting, and did involve some math. The game involved matching an animal's head with the correct body and legs. The child had to use her understanding of matching to complete the game successfully. There were no geometric shapes involved, but it did require the child to use some basic math skills.

For future lessons, a teacher could implement this same type of game, but they could use geometric shapes. The child will remain engaged because it is a game. They will be learning geometry and matching while playing an exciting computer game. Not only will they increase their understanding of matching, but they will learn about congruence within these same shapes.

This book could be an excellent resource for educators of young children. It is full of activities in the field of mathematics. Geometry is one of the main components of this book, which makes it a wonderful resource for any teacher who is searching for a way to teach their students about matching geometric shapes. This book is NAEYC accredited and is available on their website.
