The people of Salem see Hale as a helpful person and the only person who can help them when they come upon the situation of the devil being in their town. Hale is seen as someone higher up in class than the people of Salem. As in a higher status of intellect and knowledge of diagnosing witchcraft

I believe that Dr. Phil represents Hale. The reason being is because like Dr. Phil, Hale is seen as the doctor of Salem. That he's the one who is going to solve all of their problems. The main reason why he is so important to the court. Dr. Phil is also relied on to solve problems between people as well. Everyone views his opinion and what he has to say as facts.

In this play, Hale is seen to be as the savior of Salem. The one who can determine whether someone has been possessed by the devil or not. Though, Hale's decisions start to get more and more serious when it deals with life and death. His faith in others clashes with his own beliefs. At first, Hale was just in Salem to help the people cure others from witchcraft, but it's all about who is innocent and who is guilty. Hale couldn't let his personal judgments get in the way of the facts and signs.

I believe this song reflects my interpretation of Hale because it connects with the decision making within the play that he must make. The instrumental music is intense and would go perfect with the situations Hale has been in. The dangerous judgment that can lead to life or death. The song is even referenced often when it comes to an important decision making moment.
