The construction of this hotel began in 1987, as an attempt by the North Korean regime to show the world the power of the city of Pyongyang. However, the economic crisis forced the work to stop several years later. Its construction has been resumed on several occasions, but after several years the structure remained windowless and hollow.
Still closed to this day, the Ryugyong Hotel is the tallest unoccupied building in the world and earned the nickname "Ghost Hotel". With renovations to the outside of the building in 2018, it now functions as a giant LED screen for North Korean propaganda slogans. In my opinion, it seems to me a temporary solution, I would like to build its other half and that it can futfill the objective that it had from the beginning, to be a hotel with 105 floors and attractive to the public.

The Tower of Pisa leans due to a failure in its structural engineering. When the tower was first being built, it began to lean after just five years. Human error and inadequate awareness lead the architects and engineers to continue working on its construction. They saw that the three story tall tower (at the time) was leaning, and instead of moving it to a new area, or stopping the project all together, they decided they would try to fix the tilt themselves. In short, by building counterbalances on the tower, the lean worsened from the weight and poor foundation.
Now the tower of Pisa is an important tourist place in Italy

Finally the skin of the building was removed in its entirety and replaced by granite at a cost of 80 million dollars.

John Hancock Tower is a 60 floors skyscraper in Boston, Massachusetts. It was designed by I. M. Pei and Partners and finished in 1976. Its problem appeared while it was constructed. The blueprints where so minimalist, but presented a huge mistake;
window's reflective chrome outer shell was rigidly welded to the metal window frame, allowing no flex. Since the windows couldn't be bent in the wind, they cracked. The cracks expanded and soon all the windows failed. So, in 1972, several thousand of them had broken, causing a window rain on the Claredon St.

This bright red structure is probably one of the most interesting buildings to look at in the city. Is that a problem? absolutely not.
In 1999, a shard of glass fell from the 29th floor of the building, smashing in the head and killing a woman named Ana Flores. But this incident could have been avoided: since this tower was first built (in 1975), the window panes were cracking as they couldn't stand thermal stress, and the CNA Tower's owners made aware of this problem. Some studies suggested them to replace or reinforce the strength system, but they didn't follow the advice.
After the lamenting episode, the possessors were sued by the city and the Flores family, being forced to pay 537 thousand dollars and 18 million dollars to the victim's family. Also, the city ordered to replace the glass panels and checking them every month.
By Lucila Perez Ameijeiras.
