         <description><![CDATA[<div>1. Individually, we will research a pre-existing organism and determine what physical characteristics helped it survive in its current environment.<br>2. We will draw the original creature that we researched in color, and to be detailed enough so that all phenotypic traits are visible. Additionally, we need to include the biome that our organism currently inhabits.<br>3. With our partners, we will combine the physical traits of the organisms that we both researched and create an improved organism that will help it survive in its current environment.<br>4. We will create a Latin-sounding name for our new organism, which will include the genus and species classification.<br>5. We will classify our fused organisms by creating a dichotomous key, which is based on the appearance of the organisms.&nbsp;<br>6. We will draw our improved organism in color, with enough detail so that all phenotypic traits are visible. Additionally, we need to include the biome that our organism would inhabits.&nbsp;<br>7. Our original organisms, along with our genetically modified organisms, will experience a catastrophic change.<br>8. We will need to document how the catastrophic change will affect the environment and benefit or harm our new organism and original organism by constructing an evidence-based explanation that describes how genetic variations of traits can increase an individual’s probability of surviving and reproducing in a certain environment.<br>9. We will draw both our genetically modified creature and our original creature in color, including enough detail so that all phenotypic traits are shown. Additionally, we will include both organisms in the new environment.<br>10. Individually, we will create an essay explaining which organism survived, what adaptations were beneficial, what traits were lost, and how the environmental shift affected the organism. &nbsp;</div>]]></description>
