There is a huge change in standard of living. Many people were living in single train cars, but the Levi brother provide cheap loans that people could pay over long period of times. This made homes affordable for more people and then by making almost identical houses they could mass produce houses.

Many people didn’t use to have cars because they couldn’t afford them. Now that people had money automobiles sales skyrocketed. People really became dependent on cars. This gave people so much freedom to go places and buy more things.

They didn’t get the as much luxury and freedom as whites so they didn’t get to experience the same level of affluence.

When the Chinese came over it was a huge security threat since the U.S had a fear they forging documents and were communist. This led to a huge surge in violent and discrinamtion against  the Chinese in the U.S. They would receive lower salaries, so they didn’t have the same experience as others during this time period. The fear other Americans had made it hard for Chinese immigrants beable to change intoa life filled with affluence like everyone else.

There was almost 40 million people who were consisted in poverty in the 1950s. The number started going down, but many people still didn’t have the opportunity to do fun things and have nice things like everyone else. It was also hard for so people to get out of poverty with the old ways of women staying at home so now people are taking in less income.
