When someone is angry or belligerent it is not hard to read their body language. They may pound a desk in frustration, point their finger at someone or something, their lips may flatten or turn downward, and their eyes might stare intently on the subject they are angry with.

You may even hear a deep groan of frustration. You don't even have to hear a word to know that these kids have the summertime boredom blues.

Sad

How many times have you seen someone and you knew at first glance that they were suffering from sadness? No words needed to be spoken. Maybe it was the way they were staring into space, utterly lost in their thoughts. Or perhaps it was the way they took the shallowest of breathes as if it was painful to simply exist. Their lips could have been a clue, lifeless or maybe trembling from holding back crying. Body language is very strong when a person is sad. That person tends to show the weight of the world on their body.

A crinkled forehead, a furrowed brow, an intense stare at a computer screen/book/teacher, and a hand scratching our head (maybe). It is an easy emotion to spot if we know the right signals to look for.

How amazing it feels to be happy, and better yet, to be silly. In today's electronic world we view this emotion often as people share these messages through selfies. You can tell someone is happy when you see a big smile, rounded checks, and open/inviting eyes. When people are acting silly they may choose to purse their lips together in a kissing position, lean towards the camera, and strike a pose. They may choose to make a funny face hoping that you will share in their happiness. You certainly know these two emotions without any words at all!
