A small puppy was crying sadly under a bench. Tom quickly ran to the puppy and looked around carefully, but he didn’t see anyone nearby.

While Tom was holding the puppy gently, a girl was calling loudly, “Max! Max!” She was looking everywhere nervously. Tom happily walked toward her and gave her the puppy.

The girl smiled brightly and thanked Tom warmly. Then she quickly left, but Tom was still thinking about the puppy as he walked home slowly.
