One group made a mobile app poster to complement their AR solar system experience, providing a handy reference for users. Another group designed an app to track rowing data on the water, connecting coding skills to a personal hobby and sharing their passion with teammates. These projects helped students practice planning, designing, and thinking about real-world app applications.

Task 5: Turn Milk into Plastic!

(January)

Plastic made from milk? It sounds like something invented in a science-fiction story, but it is actually a real material with a fascinating history. In the early 20th century, plastic made from milk—called casein plastic—was widely used to create everyday objects such as buttons, jewelry, combs, and even items worn by Queen Mary of England. Long before modern petroleum-based plastics became common, milk provided a surprising and renewable source of plastic materials.

Milk contains a protein called casein. When milk is heated and an acid like vinegar is added, the casein molecules separate, unfold, and link together to form long chains known as polymers. These polymers can be molded into different shapes, which is why the material qualifies as a plastic. In this project, you will explore how changing the amount of vinegar affects how much casein plastic is produced.

By experimenting with different recipes, this project investigates which combination of milk and vinegar produces the highest yield of plastic. In addition to learning about polymers and chemical reactions, this experiment also introduces ideas from green chemistry by using renewable materials and considering environmentally friendly alternatives to traditional plastics.

Final Task (December)

In today’s globalized world, English has become one of the most important languages for communication, especially in the workplace. Even teenagers who are just starting their first jobs often need to use English to interact with customers, coworkers, and supervisors. Being able to speak and understand English can open new opportunities and help young people feel more confident and independent in their professional lives.

This video presents an interview with two teenagers who are currently employed and regularly use English in their everyday work. They share their personal experiences, describe their job responsibilities, and explain how English plays a key role in their daily tasks. Through their stories, viewers can see how learning and using English outside the classroom can be both practical and rewarding.

By heating milk to different temperatures before adding vinegar, we created biodegradable plastic and tested its hardness, flexibility, and strength. Our results showed that higher temperatures produced stronger, harder plastic, while lower temperatures created softer, more flexible samples. This project demonstrates how natural proteins can be transformed into sustainable materials!

This educational project focused on the design and development of an interactive smart model that combines cultural symbolism, electronics, and multimedia technologies. The project integrated both hardware and software components in order to create dynamic visual effects synchronised with music and light. The physical model was developed using components such as an ESP32 microcontroller, LED lights, electrical wires, resistors, breadboards, and power supply modules. The lighting system was programmed to dynamically respond to music and sound signals, creating synchronised LED effects that enhanced the project's visual atmosphere. Additional electronic modules for audio signal processing and control were integrated to manage the interaction between sound and illumination. Students were involved in assembling electronic circuits, connecting hardware components, configuring the ESP32 board, and developing the control logic for LED animations. The project required both technical implementation and creative design of the model structure and decorative elements inspired by traditional spring symbols. Through this activity, students developed competencies in electronics, embedded systems, programming, circuit design, computational thinking, and problem-solving. In addition, they improved teamwork, creativity, engineering thinking, and interdisciplinary integration skills by combining technology, art, and cultural heritage into a single interactive educational experience.

Students collect and analyse experimental data, compare soil conditions, create growth graphs, interpret pH measurements, and develop computational thinking skills through sensor-based automation systems.

The final result is a functional smart irrigation and monitoring prototype capable of analysing wheat growth in different soil environments using real-time sensor data and automated watering logic.

Eight girls from IPLT „Hyperion” — Luța Elena, Razlog Adelia, Costin Maria, Ciocan Bianca, Bronici Miroslava, Drumea Nicoleta, Plescei Nicoleta and Daniela — participated in this activity. In our video, we presented the physical and chemical properties of water and explained its importance through practical experiments. We identified acidic and basic environments using universal indicator paper and litmus paper, observing the color changes. We also carried out experiments to identify chloride ions and sulfate ions through chemical reactions.👩‍🔬🥼⚗️⚛️🧪
