         <description><![CDATA[<div>NATO was an organization to sign a treaty in which North Atlantic countries joined in order to keep peace with each other.&nbsp; The Truman Doctrine was when the U.S would aid countries that were being threatened by the communism of the USSR. The Marshall Plan was a plan in which the U.S would give money to counties in Europe to fix their economy. The Cuban Missile Crisis was an event the occurred for 13 days in Cuba which lead to a confrontation between the U.S and the USSR due to the USSR having nuclear warheads in Cuba which made the U.S feel threatened. Containment was a policy that the U.S used with many strategies in order to get rid of communism.  </div>]]></description>

After WWII, Stalin said that he would allow his people to do free elections which he later did not do and installed governments dominated the USSR. The  Warsaw Pact was a pact signed by Albania, Bulgaria, Czechoslovakia, East Germany, Hungary, Poland, Romania, and the Soviet Union which was a treaty of Mutual Assistance. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The Space Race affected both the U.S and the USSR due to its contributions of technology and brought support to both space programs in both nations. Some say that the U.S won the Space Race because they were able to get a man on the moon first. One the major events was when the USSR launched its first satellite named Sputnik which became the first manned object to orbit the Earth. Another major event was when the U.S was launching its first satellite, but failed and lead it to embarrassment.  Another event was when the U.S and the USSR teamed up to complete a mission in space. </div>]]></description>

Both countries would build big nuclear arsenals to try to seem stronger yet none of them used any of them due to M.A.D. The Korean war was between North Korea who was backed up by the USSR versus South Korea who was backed up by the U.S.&nbsp; North Korea had communism and was not as advanced. Then South Korea was more advanced and had better training and better technology.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>
