I make art because it is a way for me to express myself. Art is important to me because it allows me to be myself. When you make art, you don't have to worry so much what people will think, so much as whether or not you like it, whether ou are satisfied with it.

This peice was made using high fire clay. I threw the form on the wheel. After it as ready to be trimmed, I took it off the wheel and trimmed the extra clay off. I then traced on an outline of the design I wanted to cut out. I cut it out and cleaned up the rough edges. I then fired it. After it came out of the first firing, I glazed it with Amber Celadon as a base, and dripped Fat Black glaze over it. Then it came out as this. I am really happy with this peice. I love that the black changed into a slightly lighter color.

This is a high fire clay piece. This one was an experiment. I messed up in the process of throwing it, so I went with it to get the shape you see. On the glazing, I first put Amber Celadon as a base. Then I used a cup to drip purple glaze over the piece. The glazes mixed and created a new color, with which am extremely happy.

These pieces were made using high fire clay. All three of them are wheel thrown. The reason these pieces are together is because they were together in a kiln that misfired. The blue bowl was originally going to be purple, the mug was suppossed to be pitch black, and the other bowl was to be a darker amber color. I am extremely happy with how these pieces turned out though. I would not change them.
