Diagnostic Assessment: Diagnostic assessments are used to gather information about students' prior knowledge and skills before starting a new unit or course. They help teachers identify students' strengths and weaknesses, tailor instruction, and design appropriate learning activities. Examples include pre-tests, concept maps, and interviews. Performance Assessment: Performance assessments require students to demonstrate their knowledge and skills through hands-on tasks or projects. They assess students' ability to apply what they have learned to real-world situations. Examples include presentations, portfolios, lab experiments, and simulations. Portfolio Assessment: A portfolio is a collection of students' work that showcases their progress and achievements over time.
