Demetrius was in love with hermia at this point in time and felt overjoyed by the thought of marrying her. The proposition made by Egues made Hermia upset due to the fact that she has feelings for Lysander and dead set on marrying him.

Hermia who is the daughter of Egeus is forced to be wedded to Demetrius when she has feelings for Lysander. She has three choices given to her by Theseus either to marry Demetrius, die due to the fact she didn't listen to her father's demands or live life as an untouched nun. Lysander after the discussion on Hermia's arranged marriage he comes up with a plan to marry Hermia. Outside of the City and at his Aunt's house.

Lysander

Lysander wants to be with Hermia and marry her with her father being on the opposing side with him wanting her to marry Demetrius. Lysander creates a plan for him and Hermia to get married outside of the city at his aunt's house. On the way there they go into the forest and start to feel exhausted with Hermia wanting them to sleep separated from one another. Lysand eventually gets put under a spell given to him by mistake because Puck thought it was Demetrius not Lysander. Then he wakes up from his slumber only to find Helena and fall deeply in love with her.

Demetrius

Demetrius who is madly in love with Hermia is arranged by her father Egeus to marry her with him absolutely agreeing to the idea. Demetrius is told by Helena about Lysander's idea and goes after Hermia and Lysander through the woods to stop them from getting married. When he runs into Hermia looking for Lysander with Hermia thinking Lysander dead because there's no other possible reason on why he would abandon her in the woods.

Helena

Helena is insanely in love with Demetrius. Even Though she knows he's in love with Hermia she still wants to be with him. Later on both Lysander and Demetrius are put under a love spell. Helena begins to think both of them having these feelings for her was just some kind of trick planned by them. Even Helena thinking Hermia was in on it both of them get into a huge argument.

Theseus

Theseus who is the duke won the right to marry Hippolyta in a battle she lost to him. With him being excited for their wedding Egues appears and demands to have him speak to his daughter about the marriage he is forcing upon Hermia. Hermia speaks freely and says she wants to be with Lysander not Demetrius with her father already coming to terms with the decision she has made and wants her dead. Theseus gives Hermia three choices she can make 1. Death 2. Marry Demetrius 3. To forever be untouched and live the rest of her life as a nun.

Hippolyta was defeated in a battle by none other than Theseus and by him doing so. He won the right to marry her with her feeling upset about her situation she doesn't want to be in because she doesn't want to marry him.

Oberon

Oberon is King of the Fairy Realm with Titania as his wife. Oberon overtime grew jealous of the attention his wife was giving to a little boy under her care. So he created a whole elaborate scheme to obtain the little boy from her possession involving one of the lovers, a love potion, and Titania. A flower that had been shot by Cupid's bow was the source for the love potion for the purpose of placing it on Titania and Demetrius so they would fall in love with someone else. When Titania is distracted with someone she had fallen for he obtains the little boy but still isn't content. Oberon eventually comes to the realization that he didn't want the little boy all to himself. He wanted Titania's love and affection all along.

Titania

Is taking care of a little boy due to her caretaker in the past always standing by her side she wanted to return the favor after her passing by taking in and caring for her child. Which made Oberon jealous overtime because of all the attention she gave him and he set a plan in motion. The plan was to obtain a flower that had been hit by Cupid's bow and place it on to Titana while she is unconscious so that while she is distracted with someone else he could take the little boy from her. Titana does fall in love with someone all thanks to Oberon's plan but it was to someone who had turned into a donkey with his name being Nick Bottom.

Puck (Robin Goodfellow)

Puck is Oberon's right hand and is loyal to him. Puck was instructed to follow specific instruction 1. Obtain the flower that was struck by Cupid's bow 2. Place the love spell on Demetrius 3. Meet up with Oberon to tell him he had done it successfully. When Puck placed the love spell he placed on Lysander not Demetrius. Lysander later on receives the antidote for the love potion so he isn't in love with Helena anymore. However Demetrius was never given the antidote for the love spell. He stays in love with Helena and they get married by the end of the story.

Nick Bottom

Nick Bottom is apart of the rude mechanicals which is a group of performers putting on a play for Theseus and Hippolyta's wedding. While they were rehearsing one day Puck came along to start some chaos within the rude mechanicals play by transforming Nick Bottom into a donkey. With Nick Bottom's train of thought being everyone was trying to scare him then he sang to testify against that notion. When the Fairy Queen herself Tatiana woke up from her slumber and fell madly in love with him. Eventually Nick Bottom returns back to normal after everything that happened with him thinking it's all a dream.

Peter Quince

Director of the play the rude mechanicals and argues with Nick bottom the most within the whole acting troupe. Both of them argue and squabble because Nick Bottom wants all the attention while Peter Quince just wants to give a performance the audience would enjoy.
