Nam has already watched the video and doesn't agree with Quinn that Paul was "just doing his job". Quinn argues that he is, showing that he is on Pauls side. He back Paul up emphatically and uses strong language "What the hell Nam?" He and English were arguing about who was to blame, and Quinn took Paul's side. After looking back on their conversation, Quinn realizes that maybe he was a little off with his analysis of the situation. He explains himself to English and this is where he starts to change. He admits that he doesn't understand the situation that much, and even hints that he might be wrong in who he trusts. He still hasn't watched the video, but after this conversation he will. This line of speech is still an example of white fragility because Quinn still won't come out and say that Paul is at fault here. He has just watched the video and relived that Friday. He realizes that even though he's been telling himself that everything is fine and that he didn't play a part, his was still a part of what happened. He was there, had important information, but tried to forget about it. Quinn is finally seeing that what happened was the result of racism. He also sees that racism isn't one person's problem, it's everyone's problem. Quinn is being yelled at by Guzzo because he was defending Jill. Jill was arguing that Paul did do something wrong and Guzzo needs to stop overlooking it, and Quinn wants to believe Guzzo is right but he knows Jill is right so he defends her.
