After World War II ended, Korea was separated into two; South Korea and North Korea. The Soviet Union supported the North since it was communist and The U.S supported the South since it was anti- communist; which was the beginning of the Korean War. Syngman Rhee was a South Korean politician, the first and last Head of State of the Provisional Government of Republic Korea and the President of South Korea boasted that he was going to attack North Korea, however Communist North Korea was the first to attack. The Soviet Union started to support north Korea in the war. The U.S saw this, as a way for the idea of communist to spread causing the U.S to support south Korea. The war lasted for 3 years.

The photograph has a power impact because it shows that families were fighting in this war and many families were broken up. The photograph does not challenge cultural norms but shows the reality of war.

In the 1950s the introduction of a new fashion boom made available by the availability of different fabrics for women and men; clothing was made of the best rayon, nylon, leather and wool and etc. They used the brightest and boldest pattern of color. Clothes in the 1950s showed somebody place in society and became a way to express individual identity. Mens fashion stayed the same in the 1950, consisting of suits, sweaters and sport coats. Work clothing were usually in the style of military. The photograph shows a change in fashion in the 1950s. Clothing started to become more bold and fashionable. The photograph challenges cultural norms due to the fact that some dresses were being made to show the natural curves of a women body.

During this time the Little Rock Nine was a test after the case of Brown V. The Board of Education. The case declared that segregation in public schools was unconstitutional. 9 nine black students enrolled at all-white Central High School in Little Rock, Arkansas In September. The First day (September 4, 1957) of school the Arkansas National Guard was called to help protect the black students entry into the high school. Later on the month President Dwight D. Eisenhower sent federal troops to make sure nothing happens to the students.

This picture has a powerful meaning which it is saying that this is the start of the towards African Americans getting their equal rights. It challenges the cultural norm during that time because it challenges the rights and opportunity for African Americans and during that time it wasnt that popular because America had segregation that was “Separate but Equal”. During the 1950 this picture would be surprising to people because black students are now allowed to join all white schools and alot of people didn't like that due to the fact that all their live the lived “separate but equal” from African-Americans. This photo is relatable to our understanding because during the 1950’s it was a time where African-Americans wanted more rights and freedoms and begin to challenge to get it and this is one example of them challenging the system.

This picture can be seen in a couple of ways. One for example is that their is this new technology that is spreading across the United States and is attracting families. Another way this can be seen is that there is this new technology that is out and can ruin the way of living cause there are some people that don’t want to ruin the way you get entertainment and want to go out and be able to hang with family/friends.

After WW2 the baby boom started so did the Suburb boom. There was iconic figure during the Suburbs boom that would represent the symbol of the Suburban life. People like William Levitt suburbs were example of the Suburban life. These areas were perfect for new families looking for a new house. Each house had family rooms, open floor plans, backyards, and etc. It also help veterans returning from war since the G.I Bill was passed allowing mortgages for homes to be lowered for them. Suburbs we often called Fertility Valley or The Rabbit Hutch.

This brought a good impact to society, it allowed for the baby boomer and their families to grow and have houses to live in and also allowed veteran and other people to live there as well. But it also brought some problems like it made the women to leave their workforce and go back to living and taking care of the kids while the father who most likely just got from war goes back out and work. Another shocking issue was that these places were segregated. In 1957 the Myers family were the first family to move into Levittown. The result was that a lot of white families didn’t like that and wanted them out of the town while there are some that didn’t.

In this picture he got hit by the opposite race. This wasn’t shocking because they didn’t want him to play with them because he was African American .
