I use my gut when it comes to initial meetings and deciding if i think someones intentions when partnering with WBF are genuine. The companies that actually want to create inclusive and diverse workplaces to improve their company as opposed to those that are just doing it because they were told to, or making "diversity hires" for the number only.

Challenges I come across when qualifying partners is telling the difference between companies that are just telling us what we want to hear, and finding ones that genuinely align with our values. A good indication i find is getting feedback from Alumni hired by these companies. Are they being treated fairly on the job site? Are they being moved into apprenticeships? Is safety a priority? Do they feel like part of the team?

Possible challenges to overcome when qualifying partners are that the person who you are currently discussing options with and a future relationship with between the said company and WBF but - the other senior management and company as a whole is not on board with the logistics of WBF. Therefore there is a high possibility of the Alumni going to the company and not getting the appropriate support needed to come into the industry and company and feel like there is a future going forward.

Get a "big picture" view as well as listen to the floor guys if possible. A lot can be said about the company and what it really values by having time to walk around the shop and be introduced to employees to feel if its the right environment and do a full "gut check"
