Korean Air was founded in 1969 as a cargo company from Seoul to LA. It was the first Korean airline to have regular operations in the Americas. Korean Air is one of the biggest Asian airlines, with over 114 routes from Seoul, Europe, America, Russia, and Australia.

Korean Air was founded in 1969 and started its first transpacific cargo flights in April of 1971 and the first airline in Korea to operate regular flights to America. After that, they started serving Europe with their first European flight from Seoul, South Korea, to Paris, France, in march of 1975, marking a moment that Europe and Asia would be connected forever. A few years later, in march of 1979, they made their first passenger flight to New york again, uniting Korea with the rest of the world. In 1998 they internally developed Bibimbap and won the Mercury Award of the International Travel Catering Association (ITCA).

Every part of Korean air, from its food, aircraft, ground experiences, and connections, has been refined and perfected since its founding. First, let's start with food. As I said earlier, their menu in 1998 won the Mercury Award from the International Travel Catering Association (ITCA). They are also one of the last airlines to operate the 747 as a passenger variant. The only other airline is Lufthansa airlines, based out of Frankfurt, Germany. On top of all this, Korean Air has won many awards not just for the menu but also being one of only ten airlines in the world to have a five-star rating and also have outstanding records for customer satisfaction, safety, and taking customer safety over all else during the covid 19 pandemic.

When I saw that I had the chance to research Korean airlines, I jumped on it, and while I researched, I found how amazing an airline it is.  Everything about this airline intrigues me, but most importantly, the aircraft. They have all sorts of aircraft, from the single-aisle 737s to the jumbo jets of the A380 and the 747-8. All of these aircraft let Korean air.

Korean Air is a great airline, but how does it compare to America’s best airlines? Well, in short, Korean air wins hands down every sing time. But the long answer is a bit more intriguing.  Let’s compare American airlines to Korean air. First, let’s talk about the ground experience. American, while having more lounges, is very hated for their delays and cancellations. Secondly, while being less modern Korean airs planes offer better products and more attentive cabin crew. Lastly, American airlines started in April of 1926 and Korean in April 1971, but Korean, even though it started a lot later, still has better ratings. According to airport.la.com, Korean has an average score of 4.6, and American is 3.5 (the standard is 3.8).

My fascination with aircraft and airlines. It started when my grandfather would tell me his stories about being in the air force. Since then, my interest has grown, and when I learned that I had the chance to research Korean air, I jumped on it. I learned more about Korean cultures, such as bibimbap.
