This project will be developed in the didactic unit of Athletics within the subject of Physical Education and is directed for students of 1º ESO of a center of Secondary Education in the Community of Madrid

OBJECTIVES

Content objectives:

Investigate, acquire knowledge and get familiar with the benefits that this sport provides to health
To learn and master how to execute the career technique to avoid injuries
To know about the different external factors that intervene in running activities
Carry out a cooperative work based on a good organization of task by the students
Apply the activity of running, to our daily life

Lenguaje objectives:

Learn the specific vocabulary of athletics
Be able to comunicate with others
Be able to transmit knowdlege to others
Be able to créate a poster written with L2

The final result of this Project will be an advertising video where the students will try to convince the local people who live in the neighbourhood of the benefits of running.

Previously, the students have worked during 4 sessions on the career technique and its different tests, both theoretically and practically.

Now, is time to work on other content and information necessary which the students will need to make the final video. For that, they will work in groups of 4 people.

At the end of this unit, the students will have learned the different disciplines of athletics, practice a good technique to avoid injuries and the benefits that this sport has on health. On the other hand, they will have carried out a campaign to encourage the people of their neighbourhood to practice this sport through an advertising video. At the end of these tasks the student will have achieved the objectives previously marked, and the next objective will be that they continue to practice this sport on their daily lives. We have always heard that running is fun, healthy and makes you feel good with yourself. But, do we really know the health benefits that this sport gives us? How could we make people aware of practice this sport?
 In this unit, we will learn the benefits that athletics has for health, the importance of making people aware of this sport and how to make an advertising campaign to convince people to run.
