         <description><![CDATA[<div>K-5 SplashMath is an awesome app teachers can use to motivate their students to build on all sorts of math facts. There are many different categories of math this app covers, with geometry being one of them. The features for this app are awesome because it includes a drawing tool in which students can work out problems/ideas right there on the app. "Sound" and "Read out questions" options will help students that do better when they hear directions multiple times. Additionally, there are different levels for each game that all reach the same end goal. This way, the teacher can challenge above grade level students while keeping other students from falling behind. With this app, students will examine characteristics of shapes and apply what they know about them to determine which shapes are correct. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>With this resource, students test what they know about the attributes of specific shapes. Students must recall facts they know about shapes' attributes. For example, students will be asked to select a shape that has a certain number of sides/corners which dictate the type of shape it is. This will help students see that other attributes, such as color, are not distinguishing attributes. Using deductive reasoning, students must choose one of four given shapes. The creature in the middle says the directions, which can be replayed with the "Hint" button for learners who need to listen more than once. This game can be used to determine which  shape attributes students are strong with and which ones need revisiting.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>With this game, students will compare and contrast different shapes on a Venn diagram to differentiate between defining and non-defining attributes of shapes. One shape is organized at a time and students are told immediately whether it is in the correct spot or not. Students will use what they know to infer about the shapes they are organizing and defend their reasoning. Non-defining attributes will again build on students' understanding of what makes a shape a shape. Audio buttons allow users to listen to directions and shape attributes if needed. At the bottom, users can choose to adapt the diagram to work on prior skills if they experience struggles with  activity. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>In this game, students test what they know about shapes to build structures with the correct shapes. Students will examine a large shape and predict which given shapes can go together inside of it to fill in the whole shape. By assessing the outline of the given shape which must be filled, students will reflect and validate the symmetry in many shapes. They will also be able to measure how one shape can fit inside the same shape, which will help them to see that size does not matter.  </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>This patch tool allows students to design their own pattern using provided shapes. The class can discuss different jobs that require designing skills, including quilting or building other objects. When students create a patch of their own design, that patch can be duplicated to create a larger "quilt." The shapes and patterns can be moved around, helping students see that orientation does not change a shapes' attributes that make it a specific shape. Students may be directed to create a specific shape pattern and then construct that shape on their own. They can also freely construct their own shape pattern and defend why it makes another shape by talking about the shapes built inside of it. </div>]]></description>
