One of his firsts works was Commentariolus (“Little Commentary”). However, the book that contains the final version of his theory, De revolutionibus orbium coelestium libri vi (“Six Books Concerning the Revolutions of the Heavenly Orbs”). He showed how the Earth revolved around the sun and not the opposite. “The sun is the center of the Earth and the planets revolve around the sun.” He built his own observatory to watch space. He discovered that the further the planet is from the sun the farther it orbits.

His writings were banned from the church and told to never be read. People did not accept his theory. Also from 1615 to 1835, Giordano Bruno and Galileo Galilei, were against the views of Copernicius, but by the end of the 17th century Copernicanism had begun to find general acceptance among scientists.
