      <description>The success that women have in STEM is often attributed to the mentoring they receive as they navigate environments and systems that have historically excluded them from becoming leaders and innovators in STEM fields. Online mentorship programs have the potential to close these gaps. These programs engage women in learning specific skill sets required in STEM, networking, as well as support on problem solving and how to think like a scientist.</description>

Therefore, offering mentoring to girls in science would motivate and engage students to be more successful.<br><br>2." girls and women continue to be underrepresented in STEM" There is a fundamental need to incorporate schemas to enhance the participation of girls and students of color in science, development, and technology.&nbsp; <br><br>3. " mentoring that helps women combat the barriers they commonly face in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM)" Educators and designers need to be more mindful to help all students, especially underrepresented groups, such as women, to find strategies to participate and stay in the investigative field of science. Mentors are a great example to help girls be in the loop and participate more actively. <br><br><strong>Suggestions</strong>:<br>1. I think that mentorship programs should also be offered to underrepresented students. The gifted and talented programs in today's schools demonstrate how the privileges are not even for all students. <br><br>2. From Elementary school, students should be more involved in science topics. This could support engagements and prevent unnecessary interventions. <br><br><strong>Wondering</strong>:<br>I wonder how schools can foster and support leadership in STEM for girls without limiting other groups (Latinos, Asians, etc.).&nbsp;</div>]]></description>
