Many people who live there face obstacles like poverty, unemployment, and social inequality — things that can make dreams hard or even impossible to achieve. Banksy is criticizing the myth of the American Dream — the idea that anyone can succeed if they try hard enough. But in reality, many people, especially from poor communities, can’t “follow their dreams” because of things like illness, money, or where they were born.
